Member@marebos : If you want to make any customizations on you child theme. You have to edit the functions.php file of child theme and add the function there. If you edit the parent theme directly all the customizations will be lost. Make sure you add the code in the functions.php file and you do not need to copy/ paste the code again.

Member@didyougethealedgmail-com : To show images on your Homepage You will net to set a featured image for each post. Open the editor of the post/page where you want to display image, and locate the Featured Image module in the bottom right corner. Click on Set Featured Image.
Then you can either upload the image from your computer or select the existing image from your media library and click on Set Featured Image. Please Follow this link to know more about adding featured image.Let me know if you have any more theme related issues.

Member@marebos : If you don’t want to update then you may just keep on using the theme without updating but in future you may have security issues after some time because bugs are fixed on regular basis. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Member@friarpaul : You can force the image to a greater height but the image will be stretched and the aspect ratio will not be maintained. When you increase the height only the responsive design of the site will be lost. It looks fine from my end. The height and width need to maintain a certain ratio so that the image are not stretched on every devices. Let me know if you have any more issues.
