@theturquoisewell: It is not possible to add more than one type of Featured Content. For this you will need get your customized and get a cutomizer hired. Alternatively you can make use of other sections in the theme.

About adding map to your site.
You can get the html code from Google maps and insert it into Custom Html Widget on any one of the Sidebar Areas.
