@robx: In Simple Catch Free theme you can exclude the Slider post only in Frontpage/Homepage. Through Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider => Add Slider Options. Just check Exclude Slider post from Home page posts and save.

@tinydream: Catch Everest Theme don’t have Featured Image Slider option. It only have Featured Post slider. So the slider has to be post. Sorry for the limitation.

@skweekah: You just need to add the Post ID not the whole link. For example: If you want the post http://www.cityofcanterbury.nsw.gov.au/wordpress/?p=74 in your Featured Post Slider. Then you need to add only 74 in the Featured Slider Post #1 field.

    Hi Sakin,

Im having a similar problem too. Ive added a post | http://www.cityofcanterbury.nsw.gov.au/wordpress/?p=74

but when I paste it into Featured Slider Post #1

etc etc and save, it states ‘option saved’ but the links arent retained when I go back into the featured post slider options area.

    1. I have added a post. 2. Ive included a featured image with correct dimensions. 3. I use the post url with id. But, the slider wont update.

Im assuming I have correct write permissions etc on wordpress and theme files.

Can you help me out? Dummy site is at http://www.cityofcanterbury.nsw.gov.au/wordpress/

    Thanks,
    Jason

@wul: Your site looks great. Yes, we as a team in Catch Themes work in both design and development.

I will check in more details about the user guide.

You have enable Featured Post Slider for Entire Site. Why don’t you select only for the Homepage in Slider Options. This will make the slider show only in the homepage and your visitor will not have to scroll down to see the picture.

Yes, that a lot for your appreciation. We are really happy with all our theme and trying our best to give you all more and more beautiful themes.

Just created this site and followed the directions to add featured images to my posts, caught the ID number so I could go into theme options and that number to slider.  This worked find and all of a sudden it disappeared when I changed the picture to something else (I did change the ID in the slider to match).  Now that I try to go back and use the old image, it still won’t work.  I have to go into my hostgator account, delete the wordpress account, reinstall, and add back in simple catch to get that slider back.  Once again, adding a picture using the method above….dissapears again after a couple of seconds.

To make you clear Catch Everest Theme uses Featured Post Slider. This slider is created to highlight your post in the slider. Post means your article. So, you need to add in the ID’s of the post for which you want to highlight as the slider. After you add in the Post ID. The slider will take the featured image of the post, then title and excerpt. So, it is very necessary to add Featured Image in the respective post.

Post IDs are shown in the address bar when you edit or add new post. But if you still cannot find the post ID. Then we have developed Catch IDs and install it. It will show the post ID in the post http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/

To add Featured Image in the post see this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image

This seems like it should be possible because the original images that come with the theme do not link to a post.

Hello, I would like to have the Featured Image slider be simply that, an image slider without links or text. I really like this theme but we’re only using pages, not posts. Is it possible to make it an image slider only? Here is my site: http://www.drillingrp.com.au/

Thank you so much for any help!

Thanks. So that was someone before me and I have no idea how they got that there, and how I can replace it with my new swf file… 🙁

They have a few plugins- swfobject reloaded, Kimili Flash Embed, and then of course there is the featured slider that came with the theme.

    Any help is much appreciated!

@futureblu: The dimension for Featured Post Slider is Width: 976px and Height: 313px. But you have option to use Featured Image Slider where you can upload the image of side: Height: as you wish and Width: 976px (Recommended).

See theme instruction for more details http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/simple-catch-pro/

    Hello,

I just upgraded from Simple Catch to Simple Catch Pro. I like the taller slider dimensions in the Simple Catch Pro demo, but there doesn’t seem to be a control for this in the theme. The featured photos are of a larger dimension already.

Is this adjustment done via custom CSS only?

My site is ronmillersworldpublishing [dot] com.

sorry to make you understanding wrong.
what I’m talking about is not the Featured Post Slider (which I choose to disable)

what I’m talking about is the “The representative image of the article”
which usual appears on article list, and one article has 1 at most.

    a picture:("http://zciii.com/blogwp/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/QQ%E6%88%AA%E5%9B%BE20130228184132.png")

look at the picture above, the image in the red box is it, the “The representative image of the article”
which has a same one in the article content, and in the article showing page, i can see two same picture, I think it’s weird.

I think the image in the red box should not appear.
that’s what I want to say.

@nicosain: I see that you have already placed the flash in the featured post slider section. Can you send me the screenshot of the problem with the menu. So, that it will be easier for us to fix. As we have tested Catch Box Theme and it’s fine.

@zhangciwu: You are using Catch Everest Theme. To add in the Featured Post Slider please see the theme instruction in details http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-everest/ where there is clearly mentioned about How to add Featured Post Slider. If you don’t understand or still confused then let me know it.

@aldoup: Simple Catch Free Theme doesn’t have Featured Page Slider. It only have featured image slider. So, it needs to be post.

There is Featured Image Slider in Simple Catch Pro which gives you full freedom to control your slider with your own independent image, title, description and links all optional. We will also be adding Featured Page slider in Simple Catch Pro theme in March, 2013.

    Hi,

My main navigation dropdown does not show in IE9. Not sure what is causing this… website is eventsdesigner.com

Also is there a way to remove the featured slider from the homepage and put a swf in its place?

    Thanks,
    Nicole
