Keymaster@thofmann: Firstly. WPML doesn’t mean WPML plugin ready. It’s WordPress Multi-Language ready. This mean our theme is Translation ready and can be used in various languages of WordPress.
If you see Simple Catch is Multilingual Ready (WPML) and also currently translated in Polish, Russian, Finnish, French, Dutch, Greek and Croatian.
Can you ask in the forum of WPML plugin and ask them what is the problem and how can we make compatible to their plugin. If they answer my question then I can help you on making those changes on theme. Otherwise, you need to deactivate the plugin.

MemberHi, I am using Simple Catch free and I do have problems using WPML. http://thcustom.com
1) After activation of WPML the featured image slider does not show anymore. It did work fine before WPML was activated. In the source code of the page the <featured-slider> tags are empty. No Javascript error is thrown, except the message from cycle(): terminating because there are 0 images – which is wrong.
2) As you state that your theme is WPML-ready- how do you correctly specify the different page IDs for the different languages ?
Thank you for your time.

Keymaster@chinedus70: In Simple Catch Free theme you are using Featured Post Slider for which you need to add the Posts id’s individual in Featured Post ID 1, 2, 3 and respectively.
But if you want featured image slider then you need to upgrade to pro version.

MemberPlease ADMIN HELP ME i am having problem with the featured slider i installed simple catch and used post images as featured images for each post about three of them. I also took note of their post IDs.
I went to appearance
clicked on theme options
clicked on featured post slider
clicked on add slider options.
enter the number of slides i want and
entered their appropriate number of post IDs.
but when i open my site in another tab, only the first (#1) post ID would appear in the featured slider. if i change the number, maybe take the last into the first column that last will be displaying and others wouldn’t.
Please help me. in the site i am working on i was strictly told to make sure there is an image slider. please help me.

Keymaster@golfer300: I am not so sure that I understand your question. But if you want to show page in the homepage instead of blog archive. You have option to Select page from “Settings => Reading => Front page displays”.

MemberMy website is amanofreason.com. Is there a way I can move the featured post slider from the home page onto a different page. For example, I would like to completely remove my Home Page and make my Today’s Events page my main page. I would like the featured post slider to be on my Today’s Events page with my posted content below. Any suggestions.

MemberHi,
I disabled the child theme as I got frustrated with all the changes and needed to get the site live. Although it’s a bit of work each time I’m okay with replacing the function below in the pages below every time catch-box is updated
content.php
content-single.php
content-page.phpOne of the bigger issues I will have is being able to format the featured slider once I need to use it since I understand that unless you buy the pro version of catch-box that you cannot. Can you confirm this and provide a URL showing the differences between the free and pro versions of the features slider?
Also I think if possible you should consider adding in a sub heading feature into your theme, perhaps adding it to your pro version as a feature.

Keymaster@aquahoya: Please post your query in New Support Forum. This page concerned about the site http://truthinablog.organika.ca/. Also when you post your question please add in your site URL.
Simple Catch Free site have only Featured Post slider, where you have to add in the Post Id which will take the Post title, excerpt and featured image of that post. In you have Simple Catch Pro Theme you have additional Featured Image Slider where you can upload independent image, title, content and links.
For Header background, you need to upload your header image through media uploaded in Add New media in your WordPress Dashboard. Then you can add in the following CSS in “Custom CSS” box in your Theme Options panel.
#header {
background: url("Your Background Image URL") repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}
You can add widgets in in your sidebar. Go to Appearance => Widgets. Then drag and drop widgets in the sidebar.
You can remove the comment through “Settings => Discussion”. But individual page and post setting will overwrite the overall setting. See this for more details http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/

MemberI apologize before hand. I would like to add an image like shown in the “preview” that is under the “topmenu.” I guess that is the sliding post. I am guessing I just place the URL in the “featured slider post” and it should work?
Secondly, I would like to create a “header image” that backdrops or it falls behind the menu bar on the homepage just like is mentioned in “truthinablogs” responses but I don’t know what css to go to as its not clear.
Thirdly, I would like to remove the “comments” at the bottom of the pages and posts, where do I go to do that?
Thank so much,
Kevin

Keymaster@kirk: For the Featured Post Slider background color. You can add the following CSS in your Custom CSS box in Theme Options panel.
#slider { background-color: #fff; }February 20, 2013 at 1:14 am #4144Topic: Featured Slider Frame color

Can I change the color of the featured slides from grey to the kind of picture frame in your design?

Keymaster@superguysteve: I don’t think you have setup the slider properly. You need to first post few articles with Featured Image. Then add the post ID in the Featured Post Slider Options. Check our the Theme Instruction http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-box/

Keymaster@paigeohliger: Yes you can add the link in The content of Featured Image Slider. But you need to add the following css in “Custom CSS” box to make the link text visible.
.featured-text p a { background: none; display: inline; position: relative; text-indent: 0; }February 19, 2013 at 8:18 pm #4122In reply to: General Question

MemberOne more general Mustang question.
Is it possible to put an HTML link in the featured slider content area? I understand that the entire content area can be a link. We would like to add links to different pages from the text in the content.

Keymaster@poornima.uk: If you are using Featured Image Slider, then you have option to add in Title and Description that will be content for the slider. But if you are using Featured Post Slider it will take the title and excerpt of the post.

MemberThanks Sakin,
I am using a featured image slider but can’t see how to put the text – don’t worry, will try a slide show plugin and will return to you if that doesn’t work!
February 16, 2013 at 12:09 pm #4011In reply to: Adding different featured images to other pages
Sakin
Keymaster@jcdSF: This is just a matter of different usages of theme. Some theme usages featured image as the header image. Where as some uses that spot for the Slider. This theme uses the header spot for the slider which takes the featured image from the posts. So, please understand the nature of differences in different themes.
If you go to theme directory in WordPress.org you will see it http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ that not all theme have header image as the featured image.
So please try to add your image in the page itself and it will display under your page title. But yes, if you are need to add this extra feature for your site then you might consider posting in WP Jobs or Tweaky

MemberSo are you saying that the scenario I described in my original question is not possible with your theme? I can have a featured image slider in the head of every page, or just one page, but I can’t have a featured image slide show on my home page and a different featured image in the head of every other page?
WordPress does appear to have the option to add a different featured image to the head of individual pages, and your theme clearly has the ability to add an image slide show to the head of a page, but I don’t seem to be able to do both (your featured image slider on my home page + different individual featured images in the head of the rest of my pages). Which is what made me think that your theme is overriding WP’s ability to insert a single featured image into the head of a page.

Sakin
Keymaster@poornima.uk: Currently Simple Catch doesn’t support to add the text block before the slider. If you have knowledge about child theme then you can build child theme and then add the text using the action hook simplecatch_after_headercontent().
To remove the Continue reading text in the slider. Add the following CSS
.featured-slider a.readmore { display: none; }If you want more flexibility then you can use Featured Image Slider instead of Featured Post Slider in your site http://timewisefoundation.org.uk/
