Hi, Over the last month a reliable website ( https://annemeixner.com ) has evolved into one with frequent 500 errors and a list of suspect plugins. I hope you can help to sort it out. It began with PHP 8.2 suddenly changing from reliable to having to fall back to 7.4. Yesterday the theme received a long overdue update. Unfortunately this did not bring back stability. Testing is now being done on a staging site.

All plugins had been deactivated. After the theme update I began reactivating them one at a time with PHP 8.2, each time checking to make sure things were fine. When activation was attempted there were six plugins which triggered 500 errors and then failed to activate. These were 404 Solution, Folders, Forminator, Rank Math and Revive Social. There were two which yielded 500 errors but then activated. These were W4 Post List and Member Press. Last night I left them this way, and sometime overnight the site crashed with a 500 error again. There was no indication in the logs of what triggered this.

I will be continuing testing and reaching out to the different plugin developers and collecting fresh logs. At this point I don’t know if any of this could involve conflicts between the theme and PHP version, between the theme and individual plugins, or between specific plugins. What I do know is that it’s rapidly become quite complicated, a lot of time has been spent with Siteground support, and this isn’t really my area. If you can help with this in any way, especially regarding known conflicts I would be very appreciative. A long time ago one of you logged into one of my sites. This could happen again, but Catch Themes is a LOT bigger than it was then.

    Hello @ameixner13,

Thank you for the detailed information. From what you’ve described, there doesn’t appear to be an issue directly related to the theme. The 500 errors seem more likely to be caused by server side PHP compatibility issues or conflicts between plugins. We recommend checking with your hosting provider and the respective plugin developers to investigate further, as they may be able to identify the underlying cause.

If you experience any further issues related to our theme, we’re always here and happy to help!

    Thank you!

    Regards,
    Sujeet

Hello @ameixner13: PHP 8.2 is a nice update, and we highly recommend it. The High Responsive Pro theme has been tested with 8.2, and there are no known issues. So, please activate the theme and then slowly activate plugins one by one to test which plugin creates the issue. I also recommend that you add a plugin like “Query Monitor” to find errors.

We have no problem checking your site if you are unable to solve the issue by yourself.

    Regards,
    Sakin
