To change the distance from above and below the menu items
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS and add the following CSS Code.

.main-navigation a {
    padding: 10px 30px;
}

You can change the padding according to your requirement.

There seems to an issue with the background color which will be fixed soon.
For the time being
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS and add the following CSS Code.

.site-inner, .site-content-contain, .breadcrumb-area, .hero-content-wrapper {
    background-color: #123456;
}

You can change the color according to your choice.
