There seems to be a small bug in the theme about header image. You need to use post image as header image.

We will push the update tomorrow, after that, you need to do following to get the desired results.
1. Goto Appearance=> Customize=> Header Image
2. On Enable Featured Header Image on, select Excluding Homepage, Page/Post Featured Image
3. Make sure Featured Header Image Position is set to After Header(Before Slider)

This will make images for featured post appear on top.

Then in Appearance=> Customize=> Theme Options=> Layout Options=> Single Page/Post Image Layout, make sure its disabled so that there is only one image.

I will let you know when the new update is live.

Can you try this, go to Settings=> Permalinks, change it to something different. Check the site, if it works, change it back to to your previous setting. It should work now.

Support will help with minor CSS and php child theme modifications. For jQuery, you need to hire a customizer as this falls beyond theme support scope.

You are correct. The way you have cone things is correct. But just sometimes, when we update the code, there arise some compatibility issue, because we do not know which modifications are made by user. And each user has different change so it is not possible.

Most of the time it will not break the child theme. In some rare cases(which happened you twice unfortunately). Somethimes, it happens but most of the times it wont.

Hi @richweb,

Catch box is active in 20,000+ sites. Before updating you need to check the changelog and see if your custom codes are conflicting with the codes from changelog. In this case, you need to make changes in your code in child theme too.

When I check the changelog of previous versions of theme, I see no issue as to why child theme should not be working.

Some changes need to be made to update the code and keep the theme up to date. Sometimes, it may conflict the child theme. We apologize for the inconveniences caused and we do try to make the update seamless but sometimes some child themes may get issues. This is unavoidable. I hope you understand.

It looks like you have selected content width layout in Appearance=> Customize=> Theme Options=> Layout Options=> Default Layout. here, select No Sidebar Full Width option and the content will go full width.
