Recently noticed that the older posts link, on the category pages, now wont work.. (older posts on the author pages work ok)

Not sure why so be grateful if anyone could help me resolve please?

[I have just updated to 2.5.1 hoping this would fix it but unfortunately not..]

Thanks for looking at this for us… I have changed the theme to WP twenty fifteen and the navigation links don’t work in this theme either

Hi @alblu,

It must be some conflict with plugin as this is not related to theme. To find the culprit plugin, Follow our tutorial here: https://catchthemes.com/wordpress-tutorials/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts-with-our-themes/

Thanks Pratik, looks like its not a plug in problem as the problem exits still after disabling all the plugins and using a default theme.

I will ask WordPress.. Thanks for your advice.

Hi @alblu,

Can you try this, go to Settings=> Permalinks, change it to something different. Check the site, if it works, change it back to to your previous setting. It should work now.

Hi Pratik,

Sorry been on the WP forum and not spotted this until now as I returned just to let you the outcome as I had solved the issue. (I don’t seem to have got the follow-up email?!) You were on the right lines.. It was the permalinks that were causing the problem. I had a full stop in the category base box!
