Hi Sakin thank you for the response. The Slider Image is taking up a lot of the space for the homepage. I would like to be able to shrink the image a little bit so people are able to see the words underneath the slider image as soon as they land on my homepage instead of scrolling down. I would appreciate if you can help me to reduce the size of the image featured.
@chandrathompson: We need to check in detail. I am not being able to recreate the problem. So, I will contact you through email. Please respond.
@marieke456: Sorry I don’t understand your question. If you are using Free Simple Catch theme then there is Featured Post Slider. I would like to share with you this video for Simple Catch. Watch This

How to add Featured Post Slider
Currently this theme only support Posts as the Featured Slider. To add Featured Slider, follow these basic steps:
1. Click on Appearance -> Theme Options -> Featured Post Slider from your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Click on Slider Options to select various slider options like enable slider, number of slides, transition effect, transition delay and transition length
3. Then Click on Featured Post Slider Options and Add in the Post ID’s in Featured Slider Post#1, #2, #3 respectively.
4. Click on Save button.
Note:
* When you add the Post Id\’s, make sure you have added in the Featured Image in your Post.
* If you are unable to find the post ID then you can install the Catch IDs Plugin to find the Post IDs
If you still have problem then this video about our other theme Simple Catch might help you as this theme also uses Featured Post Slider. Similar concept.
Maybe this video will help you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oiov0L4blIw
@fabianfiedler: If you see your screenshot http://fabianfiedler.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Catch_Everest1.jpg. Here you can see the Caption being used in the Second picture. But if you are thing about adding in the first picture then sorry you will not be able to do that. That image is the featured image to highlight the post. So, this will not have the caption option.
@Julien: ok sure. You can either follow us on Twitter or like us on Facebook to get the notification.
@sahin : Thank you for your response. Could you keep me upgrade when Catch Everest Pro version will be available.
Other question : I would like to know if we can replace featured post slider by a static image with content ?
Thanks again for your response.
Hello,
My blog page is currently displaying the featured image slider, but I only want it on my home page. Currently it’s showing on both. Can you tell me how to fix this?

Hi, the featured slider option I’m using in Simple Catch works very good, but I was wondering if it’s possible to add text into the slider/into the pictures. I have seen this in some plugins, but because these also change the design of my homepage I was wondering if there is an alternative (except for editing the pictures, add text and upload them again).
Thanks in advance!
I know how to add captions to “normal” pictures, but I’ve got problems with the picture above the headline (don’t know the English word for it, in German WordPress it’s the “Beitragsbild”; maybe “post picture” or something similar in English). There is no caption shown. As the website isn’t finished and online yet I’ve made a screenshot to illustrate what I’m talking about: The upper image in here http://fabianfiedler.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Catch_Everest1.jpg And as you see here (http://fabianfiedler.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Catch_Everest2.jpg), it should have caption and that stuff.
@Julien: sorry I don’t know classic slideshow. This theme only have Featured Post Slider. But the good news is we are schedule to release Catch Everest Pro version by the end of March where you can do this. This theme will have option to choose from 1. Featured Post Slider, 2. Featured Page Slider, 3. Featured Category Slider, and 4. Featured Image Slider.
@lucia: No you cannot do that in Catch Everest Free Theme.
@neh: What have you changed in your Child theme?
Hi Sakin,
Issue is happening again now… the slider images are not there.
I see everything except for the slider featured images. Even the slider arrows are there they are just on the menu.
I again tried to refresh, clear the cache and even tried over my cellular network on my cell phone. Featured images are gone.
Thanks for checking into this strange, dissemblance then reappearance of the featured images on the slider.
Kind regards,
Nic
Hi Sahin,
Firstly thank you for the very good theme “Catch everest”.
I want to know if it is possible to replace the featured post slider by classic slideshow and if so which one?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Julien
Hello, can I replace featured post slider with a static image of same size and width? I do not have posts on my site and would prefer to use a static image of the same size and width as the slider. Is that possible? If so, how can I do that?
Thanks!
Hi Sakin,
It seems to come and go. Some times I go to the site and it works and other times it is not working. They just disappear and all I see are the slider arrows.
Now the images are back. It is strange. When they disappear I try the site from other computers and even my smart phone (different network) and they are gone. Then I try back in 15 minutes and the images are there again.
I will try to let you know the next time they disappear.
Thanks,
Nicholas
Hi Sakin,
I have the same issue, some times I go to my website and the featured slider has disappeared.
Address is, http://www.maisonharbour.com
Thanks for your help,
Nic
@@Dane: But I don’t understand why you are changing those function. Don’t edit any core theme file. To add Featured Post Slider see this support thread http://catchthemes.com/support-forum/topic/change-featured-image-slider/
Sakin, Hi…
Clearing cache as you described didn’t work.
Its very strange and seems like its hard coded somewhere.
i have pasted the code below from catcheverest-functions.php
As I mentioned, I am new to this so I cant change any coding.. just the text on front end where it appears in the files. I have not touched other files either.
I’m now trying to learn how child themes work… if that will be solve my problem.
thanks for your help anyway.
