@bekay86: I see that you have customize the core theme files. So, restore the Theme and then it will work fine.

Please do not remove the footer theme text in Free theme as that is the only recognition that we get for providing free theme and free support.

Thanks for the quick response Sakin.

When I click the upgrade now button, it tells me I will lose all customization.
I’m a bit hesitant to do this as I’m not sure how much I will lose.

Will it be a complete reset of my site?
Will I lose the featured images in my slider?
Can I make backups of info in the editor and just replace it again after the upgrade?

@moffie: It looks like there is conflict with the plugin you have installed. So, can you try disabling the plugins and check in.

I use the “Featured Post slider” with 2 posts/images.
I also set the height of the slider to 220px via the following code:

.featured {
	height:220px;
}

.featured .img-effect {
	height:220px;
}

At first, the slider shows fine on my website, but after a while it disappears. When I update the settings in the layout menu, the slider re-appears on my site…but then it disappears again after a couple of hours.

Is there any explanation for this strange behavior?

Hi,
I am preparing my website offline at the moment so I can’t post a link yet. It’s Simple Catch free theme and most of it works great.
Problem is about slider, I would like to leave the title but remove the rest of the text.
I’ve tried some solutions I found like editing simplecatch_functions.php (witch gives me parse error as soon as I change something) and writing custom CSS codes like:
.featured-text {display: none;}
or
#main-slider .entry-content { display: none; }
and
#main-slider .entry-container { display: none; }

Nothing works, text is still there.
I found that I can only remove everything, title and text with:
#main-slider .entry-content { display: none; }
.featured-text {display: none;}

I know pro theme would give me more functions but for now this is bugging me a lot.

Hi,

I would like to randomize the feature post slider in Catch Everest.

It is not necessary that all featured posts are randomized displayed but it would be nice to randomize at least the start post so people will not always see the same post when visiting the homepage.

Can you provide a hack for that? Or can you point me to the function that has to be modified?

@bekay86: You need to add in the post IDs in “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Slider => Slider Options”.
I just see that you have added the Post ID 540
But I don’t see other Post ID.
You need to post ID “#1 Featured Post ID”, “#2 Featured Post ID”, “#3 Featured Post ID” and “#4 Featured Post ID”

I have a problem with the “featured Sliders”.

As you can see on my website, there is one Slider…but just one… I selected four sliders…but it is not working..

I have a related question about the featured image set for each page. When I select the featured image specific to any page using any image it gives me a white horde around the image.

I would like to have no border/margin so it looks exactly the same size the rotating slider image size.

@moontrug: You can add in your own image with Catch Everest theme. If you are using Catch Everest Free theme then you only have option to use Featured Post Slider, which mean you have to add in the post id and the theme will take that particular post Featured Image, title and excerpt content. Hy Sakin,

I have the same wish to insert a picture instead of the text into the homepage headline area. I tried the recommended solution by inserting html code for pictures, but I am not a technical person and couldn’t figure it out how to do it. Especially didn’t find how to give the picture location.

Is there any other way to insert a picture between the slider and featured content area on homepage? as I observed it was possible on this site: http://www.xylemclothing.com

@iLinux85: There is no easy way to side separation. We will add that in our next version update. For now, you have to build child theme and then create functions.php file in your child theme and then copy the function simplecatch_sliders() from simplecatch_functions.php to your child theme functions.php and replace the line
$simplecatch_sliders .= the_title( '<span>','</span>', false ).': '.$excerpt;
with
$simplecatch_sliders .= the_title( '<span>','</span>', false ) . $excerpt;
