@rbrek: Oh you mean to hide the post text. You can just add the following CSS in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
#slider-wrap .featured-text {
visibility: hidden;
}
Ok Sakin, it’s posted. Let me know how to fix it or when I can take it back down. Thanks!
Ok, I’ll put it up for a bit. Give me about five minutes.
@rbrek: I need to see the issue in your slider. Here you have loaded demo slider which is fine.
Ok. I’ve put the Slider back on. Do you want me to put the photo I want to use again, with the text?
@rbrek: Yes, I need to check in your slider.
http://www.restlesshearts.us I’ve now removed the Slider completely, but can put it back up if need be. I didn’t leave the photo I had in it, as it looks weird with the text from my post showing.
@rbrek: Please post in your site URL so that I can check in.
Nope. I put in the 849 x 565 photo and it still shows some of the text from my post. How do I get rid of that? That’s happened before too. I am using the Free theme. Shouldn’t this be easy?
Sakin-
As a test before the launch, we moved our (local) site to a public domain. And, while most items worked correctly, some did not, e.g. featured sliders, our logo, and posted images.
While I could change the featured sliders’ URL, we could not get our logo and posted images to appear as they still referenced the old domain even though the image URL’s were correct.
Then we did the ‘search-and-replace’ you recommended. Now everything works correctly!
Thanks for saving us hours of lost time.
I’ve bought pro version, as it was said here in topics i decided to then activate the free one with pro features to keep the settings.
How can i using front page slider with featured images remove featured image from blog timeline and the log itself, but still work on the slider.

@Heinrich: In Catch Box Pro theme, tou can choose the category to show in homepage from “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage/Frontpage Category Setting”. Just select the multiple categories from which you want to show the post.
Then for the the slide, you can choose the Category Slider. Go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Slider => Slider Options”, then select Featured Category Slider. Then in Featured Category Slider Options, select the category that you want to show for slider.
@rbrek: If you are using Catch Evolution Pro Image Slider, then you can simply upload the image and add the image url. It will show the image auto adjust.
But for Catch Evolution Free theme, there in featured post slier where it auto cuts the image as per the size. So, you can use the image 849 x 565 pixels
Actually Sakin, I want to buy a photo from iStock to use as my Featured Photo. The small size (and closest to your dimensions) is 849 x 565 pixels. Your slider uses 644 x 320. Or should I buy the x-small photo and enlarge it? How do I adjust the sizing in WordPress to fit in the slider? Do you know? Thanks!
That’s what I needed to know. Thank you so much Sakin!
@CaptivatingHearts: Sorry there is not easy option to remove separator. You need to build child theme and in then edit the function simplecatch_sliders()
We have just added it in update for Simple Catch Version 2.6.7 where you will get separator control through custom css. But this version has to be approved by WordPress.org and set to live. So, it can take up to 7 days to live it.
After you get update, you can add the following CSS in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box to hide it.
.featured-text .slider-sep { display: none; }
@rbrek: Those are the sample images to demonstrate the Slider. In free version of Catch Evolution theme, you will get Featured Post Slider. So, you need to create post with featured image and then add that post ID in “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider”. The size of the images are Width: 644px and Height: 320px.
You can read detail instruction at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-evolution/
You can also take a look at Catch Evolution Pro version for Advance Featured Slider. Read more features at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-evolution-pro/
I am using Catch Evolution theme – version 1.2 – and the Post Slider has two photos. One is a beautiful white flower, which I like. And one is a brick building, which I don’t. How can I remove that brick photo but keep the white flower? And what are the exact dimensions needed for MY photos to put in the slider? I tried adding one, and it also included text from my post, so perhaps the photo was too small? Rather than experiment with sizes, can you give me a number? Thanks!
@Dudley: You can add the following CSS in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
/* Remove Slider Text */
#slider-wrap .featured-text {
display: none;
}
/* Move Social Icon */
@media screen and (min-width: 768px) {
#sidebar-header-right {
padding-top: 55px;
}
}
Would you mind take a look? (Please choose language at right corner on the top)
http://httpd.cpu.edu.hk/
I tried two different plug-ins for language switching, but no change on “Featured Slider”.
And other question, I found that “Homepage Featured content Options” is no option for language switching. Would you mind take some change for it?
Thank you so much!!
