Thank you for your expedient reply and excellent service.

Is it possible to centre the featured post image within each column and also to have the same width for the featured content title/text (featured post title) as the image?

    Kind regards

    Lars

    Hi Mahesh

    Thank you for your response.
You are quite right, we are using “schema.org”markup, since this is strongly recommended by Google.

The plugin we are using for applying the mark up is “All in One Seo Pack”, which I believe is quite common.

Since the use of structured data is so strongly recommended by Google we would like to continue doing so. If you have a suggestion for another way of doing this, without using the plugin, and may be avoiding the errors and warnings, that would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hi
I am bringing this topic up gain since there has been some development.
Now there are several pages/posts that have errors and warnings when checking with structured-data testing tool.

Examples of posts with errors and warnings reported are:
    http://energyfaculty.com/featured/energy-efficiency-by-use-of-heat-pumps/
    http://energyfaculty.com/featured/how-to-turn-oil-and-gas-into-low-emission-fuel/

The errors reported are “a value is required for “….” “:”author”, “datepublished”, “headline”, “publisher”.

The warnings reported are: “The attribute image.itemtype has an invalid value”, “The dateModified field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.”, “The mainEntityOfPage field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.”

Since we are not able to identify how to overcomes these issues any advice would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hi Again Pratik.

You were right, it has to do with the caching plugins (Autoptimize). Not the plugin it self but inlining css.
When not inlining css the menu color display as desired.
Is there a way to continue inlining css and at the dame time remain the functionality of the color options?.
    Kind regards

    Hi Pratik

Thank you for your response. I am not quite sure that I fully understand what you mean by: “Can you check and let me know what options are there in above settings?”.

Anyway the options I have under “Appearance=> Customize=> Colors=> Secondary Menu Color Options” are:
    “Main background color” – #3ea0dd,
    “Menu text color” – #ffffff,
“Menu hover background color” – #87bcdd,
“Menu hover text color” – #ffffff,
“Menu active background color” – “default color”,
“Menu active text color” – #373737,
“Sub menu background color” – #f9f9f9,
“Sub menu text color” – #444

    Kind regards

Well, as pointed out previously our concern is that Google Search Console still(and have been doing so for weeks) reports that 82 out of 85 pages contain Structured Data Errors ( missing “Updated” x 4 on each page, missing “author” x 4 on each page) even if the structured-data testing tool shows 0 errors, 0 warnings.

If you have any suggestions, it would be greately appreciated.

    Kind regards

    2. What I meant was;

Google Search Console reports that 82 out of 85 pages contain Structured Data Errors ( missing “Updated” x 4 on each page, missing “author” x 4 on each page). However when we test each individual page with the Google online data test tool (a tool offered on the Google search console, structured data error pages) it reports 0- errors, 0- warnings for the same pages?

Example of selected elements from the report content when using the online test:

    Hi Mahesh

I am sorry to see that there is no solution for this.
Yes, it is a problem since we in some cases need to include caption for attribution purposes. Your proposal to included the images with caption within the content section do not solve our needs, since, as we understand the image then will not be displayed as “Featured image” on “Post page” or anywhere else we choose to display “Featured content”.

    Kind regards

    Hi Mahesh

I have now uploaded one post such that you can see what i mean. If you open the link below you will see that the caption on the post featured image do not display. My question was: Do you have any solutions such that the caption may be displayed?

    Hello Mahesh

    That is understood.
What I actually was trying to find out is if there is any possibility of not only displaying a custom text when this occurs but also to make sure that a “proper” 404 response (for the web crawlers) is made.

    Kind regards
    Lars

    Hi Mahesh

Again thank you for your response and your patience with my questions.

All is fine except when someone try to open http://energyfaculty.com/author/user/ the following text/page is displayed “Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post” (I assume from “archive.php”) and not the 404.php.And this is where search engines detect the “soft 404 error”. Can this be changed?

    Kind regards
    Lars

    Hi again Mahesh

Thank you very much for your efforts.

I am not quite sure if I have been able to fully explain what I am looking for, so i will give it one more try.

I would like the not found message (similar to 404.php) to be displayed and responded (to users/crawlers) for all items not found on the site (pages, posts, archives, users), independent of which one it is.

I do hope this clarifies and that you are able to comment/propose solution.

    Kind regards
    Lars

    Hello Mahesh
Thank you very much for your response.
I believe that you to a large extent have understood what I was asking for, in particular in respect of custom text. However, my request was kind of two fold:

    1. Changed text for archives/post/user pages not found (since our site do not use/have posts and probably will not ever), which you have responded to.

2.To return “proper” 404 response when someone (including web crawlers) try to open such, non existing (archive/post/user) pages. The reason for asking is that search engines detect and report “soft 404 errors” connected to such pages.

I look forward to your comments or proposal for question 2.

    Kind regards

    Hi Sakin
Thank you very much for your response.

    1. Your proposed solution (first option)seems to work well, thank you

    2. Sorry if my request was unclear, I will try again:The menus normally displayed in the secondary sidebar are probably working as intended, displayed below the main content for small devices (smart phone). However if possible I would prefer these menus instead to be displayed via/as a “hamburger” (or similar) menu at the top (header) of the pages (besides or below the Primary menu “hamburger menu”) rather at the bottom, after the main content. I do hope this clarifies what i am looking for. Your advice if this is possible and how would be appreciated.

    Hi Pratik
Thank you for your prompt answer.
As I indicated in my request the site is not yet live, it is only running on my test server. The site can not be published until the described formatting issues have been solved.
Since you cannot have the url is there a way around this such that the issue may be solved ?
