    Hi

I am not sure if this is something you can assist on, however if you can, any advice would be appreciated.

    Theme: Catch Flames Pro v3.5
    Site: http://energyfaculty.com

    Issues:

    1. On google search engine, google display dates for static pages, we would certainly like the snippets to be displayed without dates for static pages.

    2. Google Search Console/Google Webmaster Tools reports that 82 out of 85 pages contain Structured Data Errors ( missing “Updated” x 4 on each page, missing “author” x 4 on each page). We would very much like to avoid these errors. Please also be noted that when running the “online test” for the pages with reported errors everything appears to be ok….?)

    Kind regards

    Lars

    @mbd:
    1. This is done by google itself, theme cannot be controlled by theme. Please consult the SEO specialist instead.

    2. I don’t quite get what you meant here. What do you mean by “running online test everything appears to be okay”. Let me know further.

    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Thank you for your response.

    2. What I meant was;

Google Search Console reports that 82 out of 85 pages contain Structured Data Errors ( missing “Updated” x 4 on each page, missing “author” x 4 on each page). However when we test each individual page with the Google online data test tool (a tool offered on the Google search console, structured data error pages) it reports 0- errors, 0- warnings for the same pages?

Example of selected elements from the report content when using the online test:

    hentry

@mbd: I checked the page with structured-data testing tool and it all worked fine with 0 Errors 0 Warning as you said. Seems everything is fine. Let me know further if you have any problem.

Well, as pointed out previously our concern is that Google Search Console still(and have been doing so for weeks) reports that 82 out of 85 pages contain Structured Data Errors ( missing “Updated” x 4 on each page, missing “author” x 4 on each page) even if the structured-data testing tool shows 0 errors, 0 warnings.

If you have any suggestions, it would be greately appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hi
I am bringing this topic up gain since there has been some development.
Now there are several pages/posts that have errors and warnings when checking with structured-data testing tool.

Examples of posts with errors and warnings reported are:
    http://energyfaculty.com/featured/energy-efficiency-by-use-of-heat-pumps/
    http://energyfaculty.com/featured/how-to-turn-oil-and-gas-into-low-emission-fuel/

The errors reported are “a value is required for “….” “:”author”, “datepublished”, “headline”, “publisher”.

The warnings reported are: “The attribute image.itemtype has an invalid value”, “The dateModified field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.”, “The mainEntityOfPage field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.”

Since we are not able to identify how to overcomes these issues any advice would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Lars

@mbd: Are you using any plugins for Structured data? In your site, there is itemtype=”http://schema.org/Article” in html tag. In our site, we don’t have that, if you check the demo, there is no error. Please check:

    Hi Mahesh

    Thank you for your response.
You are quite right, we are using “schema.org”markup, since this is strongly recommended by Google.

The plugin we are using for applying the mark up is “All in One Seo Pack”, which I believe is quite common.

Since the use of structured data is so strongly recommended by Google we would like to continue doing so. If you have a suggestion for another way of doing this, without using the plugin, and may be avoiding the errors and warnings, that would be appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Lars

@mbd: Please try disabling the plugin and check if errors are still shown or not. If the errors are only shown when plugin is activated, please contact the plugin support.

    Regards,
    Mahesh
