I checked your site and when I view the source I find the theme version is 3.1. There was a JS error after WP 5.5 update which has been fixed in the latest version. I suggest you to update to the latest version and let me know if the issue is resolved.Kind Regards,

2. Yes we do have more trnsition effects in the slider.
3. Yes, you can use a test domain and later migrate it when your website is ready to be set live.

1. To option to have a different image in the grey are is only available in pro version of the theme. I suggest you to upgrade to pro. You can check out the additiona-features available in pro version of the theme.
2. To do that you will need to create a child theme and do a little bit of customization. Let me know if you are familiar with child theme customization so that I can guide you.
3. For that
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Homepage/ Frontpage Settings => Recent Posts Heading => Edit the text and Publish.Let me know if this helps you out!

To edit the News text
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Theme Options => Homepage/Frontpage Settings => Recent Posts Heading => Edit the text and Publish.To translate the strings in the theme first of all you will need to use Poedit software. Let me know if you are welling to do that.
The Footer Editor Option is only available in pro version of the theme. I suggest you to upgrade to pro. You can check out the additional-features available in pro version of the theme.
