Hello, we migrated our website from Media Temple to WordPress.com Pro account. In the Migration, using All-in-One WP Migration, the Categories no longer function. I have the categories we can see that they are set up correctly, but when we go to the pages that the categories used to show on they no longer show.

I asked WP to help and they believe that it might be a theme issue. Have you seen this problem before and if so what do you suggest?

Unfortunately, the new site is on a staging area and I can’t make that public.

The issue is that on the old site the site navigation had pages and those pages aggregated the correct Categories into that page. On the new site, the pages and nav are there but all pages return all categories last to first. I have done a side by side analysis and all settings and plug-ins are identical.

So, all categories are showing on pages when specific categories should show instead.

Also, on the home page the side-bar is appearing, but on every other page only the search widget shows (even though the other widget shows in the side-bar widget configuration.

Unfortunately, it is still in a staging area. Basically, on the old site the navigation worked by using categories and when the user clicked on a Nav element the page would open with all of the categories that are connected with that page. On the new site it should work the same—the migration from the old WP to the new WP shouldn’t have lost info. However, on the new site when you click on any Nav element all of the pages show the same information and categories. It is like all categories are display last to first.

So, all pages display the same information. When I do a side by side comparison of the old to the new—the only thing different is that on the Media Temple site there isn’t a menu in the WP Admin for the navigation (though it shows on the site). On the new WP site there is a menu and it displays as it does on the old site.
