I am afraid I didn’t get you. You can instead use Button Blocks.

Edit your About Page => Add New Block => Design => Buttons => Add the button text and button link and Update the page.

Yes, you will need use Custom Links to include the Social Media icons.

Yes, you can include the social media icons by inserting the Social Media Links when you create a Custom Link.
