    Hi Sakin,

On the off chance that you meant having two items in the same optional sidebar, I tried this. And, yes, that does the trick. The problem is that the page is then slower to load as there are more widgets in that sidebar.

I’m confused as you have a post as well as a page sidebar in the widgets area. So, when do you place widgets in the post/page sidebar as opposed to the optional sidebar?

    Hi Sakin:

I have added 1 ad widget under optional sidebar and another ad widget under post sidebar.

The link url is the same, at http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com/nutrabee-honey-case-study. I am trying to test 2 videos on this page.

At the bottom of the edit page I have set the radial button at optional sidebar 1.

So why do I only get the first video showing at this page and not the other?

Hi Sakin, I’ve embedded the video into a post using the “optional sidebar”. Looks much better!

However, I have noticed that if I wish to place an ad or another video in this post’s sidebar and use another “optional sidebar” then the settings on the post page will not allow me to do this (the radial button allows only 1 option). The settings are default, optional sidebar 1, 2, 3.

So, how can I get 2-3 ads on the same page? Or am I limited to a “post sidebar” plus 1 optional sidebar on any 1 post or page?

    Thanks for your clarification.

Hi Sakin, Interesting. If you have recevied a 404 error? (page not found) then that means it can’t locate the page the ad is on. As it is on the archive page, and not a post, that makes sense.

I am going to try and set the ad widget into the first options widget on another post rather than the archive page. And then check the media file and see if what is needed is the file name and not the file url?

If the ad comes up on another page or post, then the issue maybe the way the archive page handles “image” ads which have no codes?

I have uploaded the CT IDs plugin. Maybe this will help?

    I’ll keep you updated.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. – Karin

    Hi Sakin,

    Thanks for your quick response.
    1. No, I inserted into a post already published, not a blank page. I have checked with the plugin’s developer, waiting for a response. As the video also loaded in the post archive, there maybe a conflict with this plugin and your theme. Maybe Catch Themes could look at adding video as a featured image in the next upgrade?
    2. I’ve added the resized youtube direct into the post. Problem is that using this method requires that the youtube code has its own line so text doesn’t wrap. Ideally I would like to place video as you place images in this theme- left with copy to right of image which is why I thought this featured video plugin would be ideal.
    3. Rather than adding CSS code for padding, I’m going to try adding an ad widget. Would a resized video of 150 x 200 fit in the sidebar – what is the width of the sidebar or can width be adjusted?

    Thanks for your help. Karin

    Hi Sakin,
    1. This is a test! So I am using an ad from my media file which I should be able to do, following the layout of your plugin.
    2. The widget I am using is yours, not the 125 plugin. I would think that as your theme supports 2 plugins, that I should be able to use both your plugin and the wp 125 for 2 different ad sizes on the same page – the archive sidebar. Yes or no?
    3. If the ad title came through, then I would think that the image should also have come through, unless by image url you mean the file url? This is
    http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/250×250-ad-copy.jpg

So, as your theme relies on featured images, the question is, do I have to set the ad as a featured image to work in the sidebar? Yes or no?

As for developer – the idea is to get your theme to look more or less the way I want and then look for a developer to fine tune.

I would like to monetize this site, so if you can clarify the above, that would be appreciated.

Hi Sakin, I have tried placing a dummy 250×250 display ad using the ad widget. Only the title showed. There is no code, so I have pasted in the image url http://www.writegreatcopy.com/?attachment_id=856, and no link url (I am assuming this is a link to direct to advertisers site, not the link to the image in my media file or link to page where I would like the ad to display)?
I’m not certain how you get an ad to show on a specific page or post as I am not embedding it into a post.
Also, not clear by what you mean by putting the ad into the options sidebar first and then choosing which post or page to show. How is this specified?

Any clarification would be appreciated.Site is http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com and the post is the archive post page. – karin

Hi Sakin, That answered my question. I’ll revise and use the optional sidebars.

    Hi Sakin,

Just figured it out! Didn’t realize that you had a “hover” on the site name.
That would explain it. So, I changed the “hover menu” colour and it worked!

The way you structured the colour options screen is not intuitive. Site name is not a menu. And, what active means, well that’s anyone’s guess. To save time and aggravation, t would be more helpful if the site title could have its own field.

Oh yes, in the Slider drop down menu its “Featured” not “Featued”. Sorry, the editor in me couldn’t resist!

All is well, home page looks great. Now onto the side bar!

    Thanks for your help. Karin

Hi Sakin, I am not talking about menu. That was okay as it was. What I wanted to change is the colour of the site title and the colour of the search button. Changing the active text colour to #3ae59c did not do anything except change the menu. The dafcfa refers to the menu text – need contrast here.

Here’s what I am trying to achieve:
    1. menu background is the default grey, but the text is dafcfa – the grey gives a visual break between the site title and the content below.

The site title and the search bar, I would like to have in the #3ae59c so that this stands out. If I leave this in grey then there is no contrast between the two graphic elements i.e. the menu and the copy above (title & search). I want to create a visual clue for readers to make the home page easier to read.

Now, there is no field for changing the colour of the site name in your Colour Options. I don’t know why as you have every other possibility. However, let me point out from a design perspective that the colour of the site title is important when creating a brand image.

So, are you saying that to change the site title and search bar, you have to change the menu to this same colour? In other words, menu, site title and search bar are by definition the “active text colour”? And if so, the custom CSS that you gave me earlier will not work?

If you can clarify this, it would be appreciated. Site is http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com.

    Thanks, Karin

Hi Sakin, I’ve tried several different colours but they all come out the green, so there is a problem.

    Hi Sakin,

    Home page for iwritegreatcopy.com.
    1. spacing problem between menu and title, great.
    2. colour changes – these have turned out green, so either there is a filter on this or maybe as these were shaded, perhaps that changed the colour? If you look at the page title Home Sweet Home, that is the colour I am aiming for. And its definately 3ea59c. So all these design elements should be the same colour.

    Any suggestions.

On the theme options. Will try this later today – just haven’t had a spare momment.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Sakin,
Update – Just managed to change scripts, but could not increase pt size of Dancing so went back to Lobster. Was able to increase to 60 pt which brings it in line with the tag line. Great so far. Also able to eliminate “keyword” from search box.

There are only 3 things I would like to do finish off this page.
    1. change the colour of the site name to 3ae59c – same as border colour
    2. change colour of search button to 3ae59c – same as border colour
    3. reduce the space between the tag line and menu – that is bring the site name and tag line closer to menu – line up tag line with bottom of the search box.

Unless I’m blind, which could be, I don’t see 1 & 2 as an option under “Colour” in the theme options panel.

Thanks for your assistance on this. Karin

    Hi Sakin,

The above worked this morning. But does not work now. See http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com/need-content.

I am not using responsive, so is there another code?

    Thanks, Karin

Hi Sakin, I see you have a “nofollow” on the wink! Funny. But i see from the code, you’ve treated gifs as an image class. MMM, maybe I should try this for pngs?

Hi Sakin, Reduced the caption line height, looks good! Thanks.

On suppressing border for pgns. The above worked for jpgs not pgns. This is really strange as there is no border in the edited page, but appears on the published page. So I tried this which didn’t work…

    page .background-image:http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/pencil.png(border:none;)

I have not set this pgn as a featured image, and I’ve also adjusted the background – didn’t work. Looks like the theme treats pngs differently than other images.

Any suggestions on getting this to work?

    Thanks for your help,
    Karin
