I would like my sub menu (at vaos.org) under Newsletters to directly open the associated PDF file (in media) instead of pointing to a post with a link in it . Possible?

    Thanks

    Hi @Theodore,

This question is pretty much related to the one in http://catchthemes.com/support-forum/topic/primary-menu-dummy-page/

Instead of adding “#” as URL add your PDF file (in media) link and drag that item as sub menu.

Let me know if this works or not.

Maybe I’m missing something. I add the URL and name the link under the custom links and when I click add to menu, it doesn’t accept it and reverts to the original setup for custom links.

My media link is http://www.vaos.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/VAOS-Dec-2015-Newslettersm.pdf but I can’t get it to take this in custom links. I’m probably missing something easy…

    Hi @Theodore,
Once you add the menu, it will go to the bottom of the current list of menus and the current box will revert to original state. Can you please try adding it and then, looking at the bottom of the menu list on the right. Then you can drag that option anywhere you like.

Let me know if it works out or not.

    Hi Pratik

I have done exactly what you say – but I do not get a new menu item on the right side after I click add to menu in the left side box. the add boxes clear, as you suggest, but no menu item appears.

    thoughts?

@Theodore: It supposed to work in that way.
    1. Just go to “Appearance => Menus” and then “Select a menu to edit” and click on “Select”
    2. You will see option like this https://www.pinterest.com/pin/548594798331771327/. Just click on “Custom Links” and then add your PDF URL and link text.
    3. Then, you can drag and drop that link menu under your menu item “NEWSLETTERS” and finally save changes.

    OK, finally.

I watched/read the links – didn’t help – I had done all of that. Got it to work with using a dummy link, then edited that custom link once it worked with the link I wanted. Must have be an error of some sort in the link as I copied it from the media files.

    Thanks
