    On pages where I don’t have lot of content, currently the footer ends up very close to the header which looks a little bit odd, see…

    …is it possible define a minimum depth that the footer should sit at?

    @oly: Yes you can adjust the minimum height and add it in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
    #main { min-height: 500px; }
