I’d like to use the featured content feature but I’d like it to be visible only to users that have logged in. I’ve set all the pages that are restricted to logged in users to be private. I tried specifying one of these pages to be a featured context page, but the page appeared on my home page even when I wasn’t logged in.

Is there any way to have the items in featured context not be visible unless you’re logged in?

My website is https://wurmb.de. This site is still very much under development an the featured context is currently the sample items.

    Thanks for your help,

    Matthew

@mpwyneken : You will need to create a child theme and make the necessary customization to allow only logged in users. Please let me know if you are comfortable with child theme customization and you are comfortable with changing code in the template parts.

I think and my fellow administrator would be able to perform the customization if you pointed us at what needs to be done. I’ll ask him because I don’t think that I personally have the time.

Is there a way to incorporate our changes the next time an official update comes around?

Oh, I see. It looks like a child theme addresses exactly the problem I mention in the last line.

@mpwyneken : You can make your necessary customization through child theme and it will not affect your theme even if you update your theme. Please let me know if there is any other theme related issues that I can help with.

Thanks for the information. We would like to go ahead and try to make the modifications necessary to ensure that featured content is only visible to logged in user. Could you please point me to the file(s) that will need to be modified and give me a hint as to what part of the code we will need to look at?

    Thanks,

    Matthew
