    I am trying to set up the menus over my header but I don’t know how to. I was able to set up what we do, but none of the other menus are coinciding with the menu bar on right sidebar. Yet “What we Do” does. Please help.

    @Nancy, well since the header background color and the rest of the other menu font color (except ‘What We Do’) are white they are appearing to be visually hidden.

    Therefore, put the following Custom CSS snippets in Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options -> Advanced Option which will do the trick appearing all other menu items as you scroll down the page.

    .site-header.fixed #site-navigation ul li a{
    color: #00efbb;
    }

    Let us know if you have any confusion.

    I was speaking of the menus above header. When I click on them my content is not there. I am trying to eliminate that white bar following my posts. It interferes with page content.

    Also, I had asked if there was anyway to put the menu bar on top below the header image.

    You will see what I mean when you click on each of the menus above the header that only one shows my content.

    I guess I am so frustrated because I went through this with Envato and had to reinstall WordPress, losing five years of work and until I get these menu issues resolved, I cannot move forward.

    Thank you for you patience and help

    Hello again!

    Sorry for the trouble.

    After all the details above, we think we are more close to your problem to provide you the actual solution.

    Step I : Update permalinks.

    Go to settings and update your permalinks. Check this screenshot for clear instruction.

    Permalink setup

    Step II : Add URL to your custom menu items

    Next, since your site menus are setup from Custom Links menu, you need to input the custom URL for each of those menu items.

    See this screenshot to know how to input the URL for each menu items.

    custom-menu

    Now SAVE after you are done.

    NOTE :If you got any confusion finding the actual URL of your site pages, please refer this screenshot.

    page permalink

    You should now be able to access the page contents from each menu items that are in your header menu.

    If you still have any confusion going through these steps please do not hesitate to write us back.

    None of that worked. The menu above the header goes no where except for “what we do”
    Also, I want to get rid of the white menu that follows my page as it covers up content.
    I would like to move the menu bar (above the header) to below the header. I tried the permalinks but as you can see by these screen shots, when all but “what we do” in the black menu bar above the header goes right back to the posts page.

    Also, I do not see anywhere in my customizer the “add to menu” (in your screenshot which I am including along with mine). It will be the last shot.

    Oh I have nowhere to add my screenshots.

    I am so sorry. I am bedridden and paralyzed and am struggling to figure out how to remove the white menu. I really need to get my site back up. Please forgive my limited knowledge but I really cannot find add but I will look again.

    But can you please tell me how to remove the white menu bar and put the menu bar above the header below it. Those are the pages that I want to work with.

    Thank you so much for you patience with me

    You can disable the white menu bar from Appearance -> Customize -> Menus -> Menu Options -> Disable Sticky in Primary Menu (Uncheck the checkbox ) and Save your settings.

    This will remove your white menu bar.

    Hello Nancy,

    I think this is the solution you are looking for.

    To add a link back to homepage please go to

    Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Header Image

    on the bottom you will be able to see an option named Link URL

    where you will be able to set a url for the custom header image.

    Put the home link in the textbox, ( http://slaveryshatterslives.com/ )

    Do not forget to save by pressing the save and publish button.

    Now if you click on the header image, you will be redirected back to you homepage.

    Please refer to the screenshot if you get confused. http://prntscr.com/bfp0p1

    Hope it helps.
