    Hi,

I would like to make the comments I get for each post visible below the post.
Now it only shows with a link to “answers” but it is difficult to see. I would like to engange people so I want it to show without having to follow a link.

    Hope you can help.

    Thanks.

@charlottekrenk: Go to Dashboard=> Posts => All Posts and edit one of the post. In edit post page, there is Screen Option at the right top just to left of Help, click it some options will slide down. The Check on Discussion option. After that scroll below content you’ll see Discussion section, in that section make sure that Allow comments is checked. This will display comments section below the post in single page for that particular post.

Let me know if any problem.
Please post in you site url.

    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,

I tried that but it’s not working. If you look at http://charlottekrenk.com/blog/ below the first blogpost at the bottom. One person has made a comment. There is a link to it. What I basically want is for the comment to show. I can’t find any options in the backend where I can control this. Can it be a theme specific issue maybe?

    Thanks

    Charlotte

@charlottekrenk: For this you’ll need to create child theme. You can find more details on creating child theme HERE. Then copy home.php from Adventurous theme to your child theme and add the following codes in home.php below line 45 just above <?php endwhile(); ?>.

Thanks, Mahesh, then I’ll have a look at that. Hope it doesn’t require too much programming skills and experience 🙂

    Thanks a lot for now!

    Hi Mahesh,

I have read about creating child theme as you recommended above. However, I don’t know where to create the new theme. Is it in the filemanager in my cpanel? Or can I do it through the wp dashboard?

I also see you have an Adventurous Child theme for download. Should/can I use that by downloading it and uploading to my filemanager?

Hope you can help. Thanks a lot.

@charlottekrenk: Yes, you can download the Adventurous Child Theme from the blog page from the above link. And copy home.php from Adventurous to Child theme and edit the code, then you can upload it via file manager or admin dashboard’s Add theme option.
Hope this helps. Let me know if any confusion.

    Regards,
    Mahesh
