I’m creating galleries with images that link to the attachment pages. Do you know a way for the captions to also link to the attachment pages? Or of a plugin that will do that? (I know I can paste absolute links in the caption fields, but they would no longer work when the site goes live.) Thanks.

@effess: We recommend using Jetpack plugin or Nextgen Gallery plugin for gallery then WordPress default gallery. See our demo gallery page http://catchthemes.com/demo/catch-kathmandu/gallery/ where we use Jetpack plugin.

I don’t think Nextgen would work for what we’re doing — this is how we’re using the gallery: http://www.effessdesign.com/WP-samples/gallery.png. Each image links to an attachment page.

@effess: Oh for that you need to build child theme and then copy content-gallery.phpfile in your child theme and edit it. For child theme, refer to http://catchthemes.com/blog/create-child-theme-wordpress/

At this time we’re just using the gallery that came with the theme. Can you please tell me what change to make in content-gallery.php? It doesn’t make much sense to me. Thanks and best wishes for a speedy recovery to your homeland.

@effess: Oh sorry, you mean caption in gallery to link individual image. Sorry there is no option to do that from theme in WordPress. You might want to search for plugin.

#SungJu: For that you need to create page/post and then upload images from “Add Media” then create Gallery and add gallery shortcode in your page/post
