ParticipantMy understanding is the featured image size should be 1600×600. My first creation of this feature, I just left my images at 1200×800. I think they are too large for display and want to make them smaller.
What do you suggest for size? Lots of images I would like to use, don’t crop well to 1600×600.

Keymaster@Keith: The recommended featured image size depends on the theme and the placeholder. If you are using Adventurous theme, then you can see in theme instructions page http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/adventurous/. That we recommend following sizes:
Feature Slider
Width: 1600px
Height: 600pxFeatured Image in Homepage and Archive Page
Width: 800px
Height: 324pxSmall Thumbnail
Width: 400px
Height: 267pxThe post images that you are going to use for Slider is recommended to be 1600px width. But for other area it can just be 800px and so on.

ParticipantMy blog site is blog.mrhoni-photography.com
On my computer, I renamed one of the files and uploaded it to the Media Library and then added it as feature image slider #1. In the Media Library and now in the blog, the expected image is now seen.It does not make sense to me that after permanently deleting a file from the Library that bringing in a new file with the same name would not use the new name.
I assume the Media Library is part of WordPress, so I will need to contact some sort of WordPress support.
