When I check at my end the Excerpt Settings reset seems to be working fine. Is the excerpt length changing when you change the Excerpt length(words) value in the customizer?

Since WP 5.5 you don’t need Catch Updater plugin to update the theme. You can upload the theme without the plugin.
Please make sure to back up your theme before updating.
