I wound up changing some things to get it to work. It involved using different code and switching it to an Above Content widget. It changed it from a Playing Now player to a button that activates the player. Seems to like that code better so I guess it’s resolved though it should work regardless.

It isn’t the header or footer code. It’s the code that’s set as Custom HTML in the primary sidebar. Once removed, the the news ticker works. However, I really need to have the player on my home page. Here is the code I’ve been given to use.

I have tried some other themes that use a ticker and they don’t have a problem with this code inserted.I guess I will switch to a different theme.

This is the code I paste into the Custom HTML widget. I’ve tried moving it from Primary Sidebar to Optional Homepage sidebar and and it still doesn’t change.

And yes, I uninstalled the custom html widget and the ticker then works on the homepage.

Ok. Here’s what I’ve found. If I have the ticker enabled for only the homepage, the ticker doesn’t change. If I have it enabled for the whole site, the ticker on the other pages change but not the homepage. So that got me to thinking. The only thing different that I have installed on the home page is a widget with custom html that displays a music player. I really need to have the player on the homepage. Is there any way to workaround this so I can have both the player and the ticker?

And when I say I tried it as a widget, I took the one from the customize page off first.

I disabled all plugins and tried it. It still doesn’t change and it has no options to configure it. All I can do is disable it and enable it. Tried that and refreshed my page and still doesn’t work.I tried adding it as a widget as well. It allows me to set it up but doesn’t change to show the various headlines.
