    Hej,

    we want to update to the latest version of theme. It seems with wordpress 5.8 the option via CatchUpdate is no longer viable.

    So we might update via “add plugin”, “upload” zip file.

    Questions I have:

    1. It seems like the theme requires php 5.6, at least that is indicated when using “upload”-zip-method. We have 7.4 installed. Is that a problem? Will the theme work with 7.4?
    2. (How) can we keep changes we made via the WordPress design-menu? E.g. configured images for the slider, configured menu, basically anything within the “customizer”.
    3. Anything else we have take care of?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,

    Daniel

    @liberating-maestry: Hello Daniel,

    The theme should work perfectly with PHP 7.4. If you have edited any core theme files before those edits will be lost when you update the theme.

    For instructions on how to update the theme please follow this link.

    Let me know if this works out!
    Kind Regards,

    Thank you for your quick reply!

    Are “core theme files” also what I described above under 2.? E.g. Slider-Images, Menu-Layout (what menu items and sub-items there are).

    @liberating-maestry: Hello Daniel,

    Sorry for the late reply. Core theme files refer to the files inside the theme folder Clean Journal Pro. Slider image and menu items are customizer settings which will be retained even after theme updated.

    Let me know if you come across any issues.
    Kind Regards,
    Skandha
