ParticipantHi There again,
I tried to translate some english words (e.g. Prev Post … Next Post) into German Language (Vorheriger Beitrag … Nächster Beitrag) and normally i use the Plug-in “Loco Translate”. But it seems that the Loco-Translate Plug-In is not compatible with the Theme. The advise from Loco-Translate was to inform the Creator of the theme. Is there another way, to translate some words into another language or substitue the text ?

Participant@five-birds: Hello Dirk,
To translate the strings in the theme first of all you will need to use Poedit software. Install and Open the software.
Create New Translation => Browse and Select bold-photography-pro.pot file from the languages folder and Click Open => Select the language as German (Germany).
Now, you will see a list of translation ready strings and Translation text area where you can add the required translation. Search for the strings you want to translate and add the translation. When you are done translating the strings save the file to the languages folder. Now,Go to => Dashboard => Settings => Select Site Language as Deutsch and Save Changes.
But I suggest you to create a child theme before doing all this as when you update the theme to the newer version the translation you added will be lost or what you can do is you can translate majority of the strings available for translation and email it to me and I shall add it to the theme itself with your name as the contributor.
Let me know if this helps you out!
Kind Regards,

ParticipantHello Skandha,
It works but with the following modifications, and i do not know if it is conifgured correctly:– I Have a “language” folder in the main “Bold … Pho…” Theme. in this folder i copied the modified pot file. But my concern is, when you update the theme, that this translation will be lost.
– I created a theme child, but in this theme child, there is no “language” folder. I Created a language folder, containing the modified pot file, but than, the language is not changing.
– At least, i have an languages folder in “WP-Content”
So my question is: Where is the right place to copy the .pot file in, to not loose the translation in case of an update of the theme (with using a child theme)
BR and many thanks again for the excellent support.

Participant@five-birds: Hello Dirk,
You will need to copy the Languages folder from your parent theme to the child theme. Once you copy the languages folder to child theme your translations won’t be lost even after theme udpated.Let me know if the translations are working fine.
Kind Regards,
