I am using simple Catch and come across a big problem with the slider. I have been using the Thumbnail editor plug in and it has been working fine, the images were cropped in and fit in the slider. And then inexplicably the slider changed all the images seemed to reset themselves suddenly there’s white lines on either side of the images. I’ve tried to recrop hem on thumbnail editor and it wont work. I’ve even tried other thumbnail editors but the same problem. Any ideas how i fix this?

@09Shan: Not sure what you mean. Can you explain in reference with your site URL? In Simple Catch Free theme there is Featured Post Slider, which take featured image of the post in the custom size called slider with size 976px width and 313px height.

I’m setting up a film blog and posted several stories on the site and included featured images and added them to the slider. There was no issues i scaled the images to appropriate size and it looked great. Suddenly one day some of the pictures seemed to change back to there original format on their own whilst others still were cropped correctly. I’ve tried cropped them again but it hasn’t made a difference. my site is http://www.reeltimereviews.com. Some of the images i’ve added have a white blocks on the side as if they don’t fit in the slider

If you check out the the Spielberg pic and the Martian pic on the slider is seems to fit fine whilst the others have white lines on either side and no matter how much i crop it the images stay the same.

I’ve taken your advise about picking better quality pictures. It appears i’ve solved the problem. thanks for your help.

I’m having an issue with my slider as well. One of my featured slider images changed the cropping by itself and I can’t seem to get it correct again. Here is the url.

Notice in the second image in the slider the man’s head is cut off. I’ve tried to recrop it in the thumbnail editor but it’s not working. I’m trying to get to where the man’s face is included in the slider.

@tivonjohnson: Looks like you are using Feature Post Slider, where you featured image get auto crop to 976px by 313px. If you want to use your custom size image, then change your slider type to Featured Image Slider and upload your image as per your need. But don’t upload too big image, it will hamper your site load. So, best option is to change to image slider and upload image with maximum width 976px and height as your like.
