2 of my slider images will not crop for reasons I cannot figure out. If you look at the 3rd slider (the one with the bike) the image cuts off the top of the biker…yet I have cropped this image in the post thumbnail editor multiple times and even replaced it and put it back…and every time it always reverts to this version and will not change.
Can anyone look at the code and tell me what went wrong? It was not always like this.
My site is tddd-william.com
Thanks.
@ToddWilliam: I see that you have activated Jetpack plugin “Photon” module, which loads the images from wp.com CDN. That is why it your image cropping not working with thumbnail editor. So, the best in this stage will be to upload the cropped version as featured image.
Beautiful. I deactivated the module and it fixed the issue. Thanks so much.
I’ve spent literally hours and hours trying to solve the same problem before coming across this post. The solution is so simple but I would never have worked it out myself.
If this isn’t a rare issue, then perhaps it could be worth adding this solution to your FAQ so its easier to come across.
@banno2000: can you post in your site URL so that I can check in. First, did you regenerate the thumbnail using “Regenerate Thumbnail” plugin.
The problem is now solved, all I needed to do was disable the Photon module in Jetpack. I had tried the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin, and half a dozen other plugins for cropping, but nothing worked until Photon was disabled.
thanks for sharing issue with Photon module in Jetpack.
