Hi there,

short question for help regarding the behavior of the click-and-feel of the menue-buttons;
I’m using categories as menu-items and (i. e.) pages for sub-menues.
Now I’d like to supress any action (forwarding) when clicking on a main-menu-button; all action should be generated by using the sub-menues…
Is there any way to “de-activate” the routing when clicking on the main-menu-button? Or do I have to use other elements than categories as main-menu-items to be able to supress any clicking-action??

Thanks for your help,
Steve

Good morning Sakin,

sorry to got you confused… 🙂

Unfortunately this question/problem IS a little bit hard to explain;
let me try again…

1. First of all – the address of our test-site: http://www.wowow.eu

2. There are several menu-button on the homepage
(HOME – NORMTEILE – HYDR.&PNEUMATIK – Material……)

3. Some of these menu-items do have submenus
(i. e. NORMTEILE -> DIN-ÜBERSICHT – ANFRAGE NORMTEILE)

4. On MouseOver the submenus get visible
(which, of course, is intended)

5. When one of the main-menu-buttons get a mouse-click
(i.e. NORMTEILE), the system will route you
to the category-achive-page (of NORMTEILE)

6. That is NOT intended…

7. So my question is: is there a way to suppress the
OnMouseClick-action on a main-menu-button and only
allow the user to choose from the attached submenus?

Hope this makes my question a bit more understandable 🙂

Have a nice day and hope to hear/read you again soon

@Steve: If you want no clickable parent menu then why are you adding category as your parent menu. You cannot make page, post and category without link. You need to add custom link for that.

So, in your custom menu at “Appearance => Menus”, choose Custom Links and add # in URL and Link Text as Normteile. Theme click on Add to menu. This will add # link in your menu. Then in menu, you can remove that # and leave empty. This will do the trick.

See how it has been done in demo page http://catchthemes.com/demo/catch-everest/ for Parent Drop item.

Hey Sakin,

just another short question regarding menus…

Do you, by any chance, know a plugin to customize the look&feel of the main-menu-bar; which (of course) works well with this template…?

If possible, I like to give the menu-bar a bit more functionality 🙂

Thanks for your help…

Cheers,
Steve

@Steve: Sorry we cannot recommend plugin as many plugin doesn’t have good support or they don’t update it. So, you need to search at http://wordpress.org/plugins/ and use plugin which has got good rating, feedback and have updated to latest version of WordPress.

I think they are having the same problem I am having.

I want my menu to be:

Home
Places to See
-Different States(Connecticut,Florida,Tennessee, etc)
— Different Area of State(East TN, Middle TN, West TN, etc)
People to meet
Things to do
-Puzzle
–Word Search, Crosswords, Cryptogram, etc
-Games
–Video, board, etc
Cooking
–Recipes, Beverages, etc
Geocaching
-Location
–Cache
Reviews-
-Household, Resturant, etc
Gallery
Puppets
About Grace
-Certifications, Recommendations, Published, Works.

I have been to you tubes and all different forms stuff. I tried the Hyperlink the Places to go. I just want this simple Menu. Just tell me the steps on one and I can do the rest. Because when I place their categories. Then are going to their places but also different places too.

Next to put a quote of the story on the outside of the article? and those steps? because it wants to shift whole story.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
And last for now. What is a good size photo in an article that it don’t take long to learn and doesn’t make article out of uniform when writing?

Thanks again.
Deb
