    Hello Skandha,

    I want to use the header highlights.
    The header highlights in total is too high for our website.
    I thought it should be possible like on the website toerfietsleusden.nl using the theme catchmagpro.

    I think the images cannot be smaller than the prescribed measures.

    That is why I want to use the possibility to have only three images.
    In the header highlight part of the Travelore theme the theme let me choose for three images.
    After storing the website the middle image stays big.

    You can see it on http://www.staging.toerfietsleusden.nl.

    Is therefore a solution?

    Kind regards

    Hans Hagmeijer

    Hello Skandha,

    Thank you for looking to it.

    Strange thing: when I click the link: the url isn’t accessible. When I type the url with the keyboard, the url is accessible. sorry for that. I did not know it before.

    I made a screenshot You can see it here

    On the iPad, the result is perfect.

    Kind regards

    Hans Hagmeijer.

    @toerfiets: Hello Hans,

    You will need to have 5 posts to have the Header Highlights section look like the demo.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Hello Skandha,

    The cause of my question was that in the menu I can choose for three, four or five parts as you can see in the link.

    I asked, because for me the header highlights is too high. If it can’t be less high then I have to do it with this.

    Kind regards

    For that you will need to create a child theme do a little bit of customization. Let me know if you would like to go ahead creating a child theme.

    @toerfiets: Hello Hans,

    Go to => Child Theme Folder => create new folders template-parts/header-highlight then create a file custom-header-highlight.php then add the code in this link.

    The path to the file custom-header-highlight.php must be same as in the parent theme folder.

    Then,

    Go to => Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS and add the following CSS Code.

    #header-highlights-post-2 {
    width: 50%;
    }

    Let me know if this works out!
    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Hello Skanda,

    This has no visible result.
    Question: if I change the child theme, the results are visible in the normal theme?

    Kind regards

    You will need to switch the theme to your child theme to see the result.
    You will need to setup of Header Highlight section with 3 posts.

    Hello Skandha,

    I switched to the child time.

    You can see it in the first image in the url line in the image and I added the css you gave me.

    I changed the number of images in 3. You can see that in the second image.

    The images have the correct height and width

    There was no result.

    Now I don’t know anymore what to do else.

    @toerfiets: Hello Hans,

    Can you please check the path of the file post-types-header-highlight.php in the child theme folder? The path to the file should be same as in the parent theme folder.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    @toerfiets: Hello Hans,

    In the 2nd post there is a class two which should not show up after I provided you the code above so there is something wrong with the way you have setup the file in the child theme folder.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Hello Skandha,

    Now the header highlights in the child theme works perfectly. In the “normal” website it doesn’t.
    Can you give me a clue please.

    Kind regards

    @toerfiets: Hello Hans,

    The changes is made using a child theme so that It does not get lost when you update the theme. You will need to activate the child theme and customizer your site using the child theme. The child theme is same as the pro theme with the little change made to Header Highlight section.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Hello Skandha,

    Is it correct as I suppose, that from now on I worked in Child theme only?

    Kind regards

    @toerfiets: Hello Hans,

    Yes, that is true. To use the adjustment made to the Header Highlights section you will have to use the child theme. Also you if you have to edit other theme files you can use this child theme.

    Let me know if you have anymore queries.
    Kind Regards,
    Skandha
