    Changing the background color of the footer area does not appear to be an option in the Customize > Colors panel. The footer background is black, or near-black, which is too dark for the link colors I have chosen. Is there a snippet of CSS to change the footer area background color?

    @springtide20: Hello there,
    Go to => Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS and add the following CSS Code.

    #colophon {
        background-color: #123456;
    }

    You can change the background color according to your choice.

    Let me know if this works out!
    Kind Regards,
