When i edit the Featured Content image, title and description in the WP Customiser window, the changes are not reflected on the site.
If I go into Appearance > Theme Options and make the changes again, it works and I can go back into WP Customiser and the settings have been pulled back across.
I am working on a localhost so not sure yet if this may be causing the problem. I am a WP trainer and use this theme during my classes. 🙂
@skandha : I don’t have any plugins enabled as yet so nothing for me to disable. It was happening on 3 separate computers all which were new WordPress installs on localhosts with catch-everest theme installed. I am a trainer and happened during a class today to both myself and the participants.
@thetraininglady: Well okay. That is strange because at my end both ways changes can be seen on the featured image slider. Please do a fresh installation of the theme and let me know if the issue persists.
Back again and have had the same thing happen again on 5 computers today during a training course. Making edits to the Featured Content on the homepage via WP Customiser did not work, it did not overwrite the original images. We had to go back to the Theme Options window and repeat the process in there which then worked.
@thetraininglady: Are you talking about the feature slider because there is no featured content option available in the theme option. Sorry that im not able to copy what the issue is. Can you walk me through the issue so that I can find you a solution? Which option in the Customizer are you having trouble with?
Sorry I meant Homepage Featured Content. Here are the steps:
Go to Appearance > Customise
Go to Homepage Settings
Go to Homepage Featured Content Options
I set an image for Featured Content #1
Insert the Title and Content.
Repeat this step for Featured Content #2 and #3.
Publish the changes.
Load site and refresh page
The changes do not appear, the default images, title and content remain.
If I then return to the Dashboard, go to Appearance > Theme Options. Open the Homepage Featured Content area. Repeat the process and save. The changes are now visible on the site.
I am running this on a localhost via WAMP server 2.5 set up on a PC. It is happening on multiple computers. I have the latest version of WordPress running and no plugins active.
@thetraininglady: Hello there, The theme seems to work fine at our end and doesn’t seem to have the issue you’re having. Since you are working locally it is difficult for us to look into the issue. If your site was live I could have tried to help you. There nothing much I can do to help as you are working on a local environment.
Please try making a fresh installation of the theme and also clear your browser cache. Hope it works
