@azeaka: Go to Dashboard=> Appearance=> Add/Edit posts, click Screen Options on the left top just beside the Help button. So options scroll down. Check on Discussion checkbox. Then scroll down to Discussion options and check on Allow Comments checkbox. Then click save/update.

    Mahesh,

    Thank you for your reply.

In Catch Adaptive Pro, there is nothing called Add/Edit Posts under Appearance. The options under Appearance are 1) Themes; 2) Customize; 3) Widgets; 4) Menus; 5) Header; 6) Background; 7) Editor. The Screen Options button is at the right top beside the Help button, not the left top. The Discussion link shows up under Settings, not under Appearance.

Anyway, all of that really doesn’t matter, because I have clicked on every single box there is to allow comments and I still have a problem. My problem is that the comment box is not showing up under my posts until the name of the post is clicked. Obviously I want the reader to be able to comment as easily as possible, and someone who reads a post is not likely to click on the name of the post to get the comment box to show. It’s an unecessary extra step. Really two extra steps, because when the title is clicked the page goes back to the beginning of the post, so besides clicking the reader also has to scroll down to get to the comment box. It’s just too many hoops for the reader to jump through. The idea is to make participation easy.

Please go to my website to see what is happening. The name of the site is yestersongs.com. So far I have two posts. One is about the Muppets (The Muppets and Mah Na Mah Na) and one is about Tony Bennett (Tony Bennett at 90). Please notice that in both posts the comment box does not show up at the end of the post when you first access the site. Now click on the title of one of the posts. When you do that, the comment box appears after each post. But that’s not what I want. I don’t want the reader to have to click on the title of the post to get the comment box to appear. I want the comment box to just be there after the post with no title clicking required.

I think I may have things set up wrong, and that is where I need help. Please note my menu at the top of the page: Home Artists Songs Other About Privacy Policy. In my menu settings, all of those are called pages except Home. Home is a custom link, and that custom link is simply to yestersongs.com. Home is associated with my posts: when Home is clicked after another page is visited, it takes the visitor back to my latest post; in other words, it simply goes back to the home page of yestersongs.com. This is the only way I have been able to get back to the posts after visiting one of the other pages. I think that might be why the post title has to be clicked to show the comment box, but I don’t know any other way to set it up. Where did I go wrong? How can I get the comment box to just be there after the comment while at the same time being able to get back to my posts after going to one of the other pages?

    Thank you for your help.

    Richard

@azeaka: Sorry, I meant Dashboard=> Posts=> Add/Edit posts. And it will only show the comments in the single posts page not in the homepage as you mentioned. For that, you’ll need to create a child theme. You can find more details on creating child theme HERE. Then in your child theme create a new file index.php and paste the code from the link below:
