    I have created a child them, however the CSS I add to the child them style sheet is not taking effect. However the same CSS in the Customise: CSS does work.
    should not use a child theme?

    Will updating keep the custom CSS or will it override it?

    @voodoochill: It should work fine with the Code in child theme’s style.css. May be there is some error in you child theme’s style.css
    Let me know further.
