I am trying to set the main background color of this theme, and I cannot find the correct option to change it.

Changing the Background Color in Basic Color Options has no effect.

Also, once I changed the Background Color of my Header Color Options, I cannot figure out how to get it back to the theme’s default gray pattern. Thanks!

@John: You can change that from your basic color option. Change that background color and click on “Save and Publish”. If you want your default color back then you can just click on that element “Select Color” and then it will show color picket and in the right you will see “Default”. Click on Default and “Save and Publish”.

    @Sakin

    Thanks for the fast response.

There’s a bug. It doesn’t work. It’s not working because the Gray Pattern image is showing up ON TOP OF the background color.

Also, going back to the Default background color for Header Color Options does not work either.

@John: Need to check in your site as it’s working fine in our test site.

Did you have any joy in working this out? I am having the same issue!

@Emmelie Brownlee: Can you post in your site URL? Also explain what’s happening to your site.

@ulfert: there is some issue with your site. Have you customize the theme files. As I see there is <body> tag inside <body> tag and this is causing you the issue. You might want to delete this one and install a fresh copy of Adventurous Pro Theme.

@ulfert: There is something wrong with your site. As out theme doesn’t have two <body> tag. But yours have it. So, I need to check in your server. I will email you for more details.

I found a workaround for this. I had the same problem. Here is what I did:

Using FileZilla, I went into my site’s FTP at the following location:

    wp-content/themes/gridalicious-pro/images

There is an image in there called bg.jpg. I copied it out to my desktop, opened it in photoshop, changed it to the color I wanted, and replaced it in the ‘images’ folder. That made it the color I wanted. My website is http://www.clevermoderns.com and you can see the light green color on there that I wanted.

I’m pretty sure that when I installed a theme update I had to go back and figure it out all over again and replace the file again, which was kind of a PITA, but I did get it to work. I’m also pretty convinced this is a bug.

@earl_p: Your case is different and you are talking about different thing. In your case, it’s custom background and you don’t need to use FTP to replace that background image. You can replace that image from “Appearance => Customize => Background Image”.

I think you misunderstood me but that’s ok. I was having the same exact color problem as described above. I fixed it by changing the background but if you can do that without using the FTP then that’s good to know, it will make it easier to fix the color that way. Thanks.

@earl_p: Sorry for misunderstanding. Yes, for background image you don’t need to use FTP. All the edits you make from FTP will be reverted back when you update the theme. Edit from FTP only if you are editing using child theme.
