I installed v0.3 this week and have been working on creating our first website using this template. I created a child theme so that updates wouldn’t affect my customisations, but since I installed the v1.0 a few minutes ago, the homepage is now displaying my posts on the homepage when it wasn’t before.
Homepage/Frontpage Settings > Enable latest posts is un-ticked and I cannot find any other settings that might affect this.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
http://www.qvt.org.uk/wp – still under construction!
Thanks.
June 1, 2013 at 4:57 pm #9799ErkerMemberI have the exact same problem. Before installing the 1.0 update, I had only the featured posts slider on my front page as well as the headline. These are the only two elements I want on the home page. But now it’s possible to remove latest posts.

June 1, 2013 at 5:05 pm #9800danielfawcettMemberI just created a workaround by creating a blank page (not title, no content) and then under Settings > Reading selecting Front Page Displays a Static Page. By choosing the Front Page: (blank page) and Posts Page: -Select-, I was able to eliminate the unwanted content and the only penalty is a little bit of extra white space.
I still think that there is a problem with the Homepage/Frontpage Settings > Enable latest posts in v1.0 that needs to be looked at though.

June 2, 2013 at 9:47 am #9814SakinKeymaster@danielfawcett and @Erker: Sorry for the trouble and thanks for working around. We have fixed the issue and send it for update to WordPress.org . It will be live as soon as the WordPress Theme Review team approves it.
But for now. You can manually update.
1. Downloading the new theme 1.1 from the following URL
http://wordpress.org/themes/download/catch-everest.1.1.zip
2. Login to your site and go to “Appearance => Themes” and activate the default theme link Twenty Twelve.
3. Then delete the old version of Catch Everest
4. Then go to “Appearance => Themes => Install Themes => Upload”
5. Then click on Browse and select the downloaded zip file catch-everest.1.1.zip and upload it and activate it. -
