Hi,
I am using the Evolution Pro Theme with a child theme. It has been working perfectly until I tried to add a couple of plugins. Both of the plugins are having problems displaying the sidebars.I have installed a photo gallery plugin and it is causing the sidebar to be displayed at the bottom of the page below the content. I have used this plugin on a couple of other sites with other themes and have not had this issue. I have completely removed the <?php get_sidebar() ?> code from the plugin, but the sidebar is still appearing. You can see this here: http://bayoucityflyersrc.com/index.php/gallery/dsma-powered-rc-area/ The page is full-width and the sidebar is being displayed at the bottom below the content.
The other plugin is WPAdverts which adds a bulletin board to the site. This plugin is randomly displaying sidebars on the various bulletin board pages. I have been working with the plugin developer and he has tried some work arounds with the plugin code, but I am still having the issue that the selected sidebar is not being displayed, rather a random one is displaying. He has said that there may be something irregular with the sidebar set up of the theme.
I believe that both of these problems may be because of incompatibility with the theme, but have not had a problem with these plugins on other sites with other themes. Is there something that you can do to help with the compatibility and sidebar issues?
September 13, 2015 at 12:05 pm #66754SakinKeymaster@Deborah: I see that you have used Right Sidebar layout from theme options panel layout options. So, can you edit that post and change the layout to No Sidebar. You will see Catch Evolution Options meta box below your post editor.

Thanks for your response. I have resolved the issue with the Adverts plugin. I found a workaround that will do for the near future. If I change the layout option in the Theme Options will that remove the sidebar from all of my pages? I want to keep the sidebars on all of my pages except for the photo gallery pages.
I tried to change the Layout Options to something other than Right Sidebar and I get this error:
Notice: Undefined variable: sanitize_text_field in /home/bayoucit/public_html/bayoucityflyersrc.com/wp-content/themes/catch-evolution-pro/inc/panel/theme-options.php on line 2050 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/bayoucit/public_html/bayoucityflyersrc.com/wp-content/themes/catch-evolution-pro/inc/panel/theme-options.php:2050) in /home/bayoucit/public_html/bayoucityflyersrc.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1207

One more thing. I have the sidebar options on the main gallery page set to No Sidebar, Full Width. But on the individual gallery pages (which is where the problem is), there is no option to set a sidebar or turn a sidebar off. I know that’s probably something that the plugin developer would have to add, but since I have completely removed the php code that gets a sidebar from the plugin, it seems that the plugin should not be appearing in that plugin at all.

September 20, 2015 at 11:29 pm #67167DeborahParticipantHi Sakin,
I have an update.
It appears that even though I get an error message when I try to change the default layout, it still makes and saves the change. However, this option did not solve my problem.
When I set the main layout to no sidebar as a default, that worked to remove the sidebar from the photo gallery. However, I need a sidebar on some of the other pages of my site and setting the default to no sidebar caused those critical sidebars to disappear. So, I am back to the same issue that I can’t remove the sidebars from my individual photo galleries. I need to have the default layout set to “Right Sidebar” in the theme. Both plugin developers have said that this is a theme issue. I have used the photo gallery plugin on several other sites and not had this problem, so I believe that this is a theme issue.Do you have any other suggestions for turning off the sidebars on my photo gallery pages.

September 21, 2015 at 11:20 pm #67227SakinKeymaster@Deborah: Sorry I cannot solve this as it’s related to that plugin and I don’t know which post type it is using it and how it check for layout. So, the best option I see it to set default layout option for this gallery from “Appearance => Theme Options => Layout Options” and then for other pages, you can set it from page/post Catch Evolution Options metabox below post/page editor.
September 22, 2015 at 2:02 am #67234DeborahParticipantHi Sakin,
Unfortunately your solution doesn’t work, because the plugin/theme combination doesn’t give me an option to choose the sidebar for the individual gallery pages only for the main gallery page. I will contact the plugin developer and see if he can add that option to the individual galleries. However, I still think this is a theme related issue because I have used this same photo gallery plugin on several other sites using other themes and I have not experienced this issue.

September 23, 2015 at 2:41 pm #67327SakinKeymaster@Deborah: If you not have issue if you have default layout for your site. Maybe those theme you have tried didn’t have layout options for individual page/post.
The issue is like this. We don’t have layout option for your Gallery plugin page type. So, it take the default layout.
September 23, 2015 at 10:51 pm #67348DeborahParticipantOK. Thanks. I’ll ask the plugin developer if he can create a layout option for the individual gallery pages.
September 24, 2015 at 6:37 am #67357SakinKeymaster@Deborah: That will be cool. Or anyway, if he says how to get layout option on those gallery then it will be fine. I can call that and change that.
