    I am checking the save box etc after I make the changes, ther box even says “saved” before I leave that page. But the information is not uploaded to my website and when I go back into “Manage Themes” > “Customize” > “Title/Tagline’ the old information is still in there.

    @TenThousandThistles: Try changing the Site Title and Tagline through “Settings => General” in your WordPress Dashboard.
