MemberHey there,
I’m running catch box pro, and looking to widen my main content area, and shrink the right sidebar on my page. Would you be able to provide some custom css that I can use to make this happen?
Thanks,
Kevan

Keymaster@kevancoyle: The site you have added here doesn’t open. Please check the site URL and send me back. Also tell me how much you want to widen and shorten.

Keymaster@frederikwa: You can add the following css in your custom css box in your Theme Options panel.
#primary {
margin: 0 -19% 0 0;
}
#content {
margin: 0 22% 0 3%;
width: 75%;
}
#secondary {
width: 16%;
}

Keymaster@frederikwa: I checked in your site http://oddsresults.com/ and I haven’t seen that you have added the above css in “Custom CSS” box in your Theme Options. Please add that and let me know. Then only I can check your site status.

Member@frederikwa I pasted the css code you put above and it worked but made the sidebar too tiny. When I tried to tweak it by making the main area narrower and the sidebar larger it removed the sidebar altogether. I know I don’t understand most of the code you have written up there. So there is probably more to it than just changing the percentage of two numbers.
Do we need to pay someone to widen the entire usable area rather than making the sidebar narrower and the main column wider? I’d like to have our entire window of usable area wider so I could leave the sidebar as is and expand the main column about the size you had in your css code above. http://www.mcrtlife.com

Keymaster@DonnaCR: You are not using Catch Box theme. So, the css above will not work for you. If you want to hire customizer then you can fill it here http://catchthemes.com/hire-customizer/

MemberI have catch box and the code to increase the width of the sidebar and main content area did not work for me either. It made the sidebar tiny and the content area large beyond the edge. Any ideas? Thanks! I love the theme!

Keymaster@thespikers: Send me your site URl and your width in percentage for this Catch Box Theme. Then I can look at your site and send you the css.

Member@Sakin,
I am trying to make my sidebar widgets to be only 300px. I implemented this code in the Custom CSS box under Theme Options.
#secondary {
width: 300px;
}Now, my primary content stayed the same width as before. I have tried adding:
#primary {
width: 95%;
}but it doesn’t work. My website is http://www.adamcgorecki.com. Any ideas?

Keymaster@acgorecki: You cannot make it one 95% and another 300px. This is complex. Better hire customizer for this.

MemberThanks! In Editor it says the max width is 1000px. I would like to make it 1500 px, have the content area as 1200 px and the sidebar as 300 px. Is this possible? If not how wide can I make it? Or is there another free theme similar to this with all the customization that allows for a bigger width? I am not against buying the theme either but I am trying this first… Thanks bunches!!!

Keymaster@thespikers: Catch Box theme is design with small width so for larger width and similar design I recommend you to use Catch Evolution Theme, Catch Kathmandu Theme and Adventurous Theme. You can see the list of our free themes at http://catchthemes.com/themes/category/free/ and then check our their demo and theme instructions page at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/
