Hello! Thank you for the Catch Evolution theme.
My question: If I update from version 1.2.1.1 to version 1.8.5, will I lose any of the settings (quite a few) that I’ve specified in the folllowing options: under “Appearance” in WP-Admin: “Customize”, “Theme Options,” “Header,” “Background”? (I did add a scrap of code to “Custom CSS” (for ending the annoying hyphenation) under the “Theme Options”.)I’d like to take advantage of whatever is gained from updating the theme but don’t want to lose all my settings. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you.

The update will only change the files inside catch-evolution directory. So, if you have edited or added any file inside catch-evolution directory then those edits will be reverted back to original.
You don’t have to worry about Theme Options settings.
July 25, 2014 at 3:17 am #41421CrystalClearParticipantThank you. Additional questions: is Catch Evolution version 1.8.5 compatible with WordPress 3.7.3? Additionally, is it also compatible with WordPress 3.9.1?
July 25, 2014 at 9:34 am #41425SakinKeymaster@Consciousness: Yes Catch Evolution is compatible to latest version of WordPress. There is no problem. But why do you want to use version 1.8.5 as the latest version is 1.9
July 25, 2014 at 9:37 am #41426CrystalClearParticipantHi – thank you, I didn’t realize 1.9 was available.
*Will Version 1.9 ALSO be compatible with WordPress 3.7.3? My site is currently WordPress version 3.7.3.Thank you for your help.
July 25, 2014 at 9:39 am #41427SakinKeymaster@Consciousness: Not so sure about WordPress version 3.7.3 as it’s really old one.
Note: Don’t keep the older version for WordPress as the older version are already open with know security issues. So, you might get hacked anytime. To keep your WordPress site secure, the most important is update, update and update.July 25, 2014 at 9:43 am #41428CrystalClearParticipantThank you. So it sounds like I should update WordPress before updating the theme. Then the question is: Will my current Catch Evolution version 1.2.1.1 work with WordPress 3.9.1? Since I might not be updating it all at once.
July 25, 2014 at 9:45 am #41429SakinKeymaster@Consciousness: Yes, you should update the WordPress and then theme both. Not 100% sure about version 1.2.1.1. It should be working but it’s again good to update to latest version.
