Somewhat frustrated as I have worked with many of your themes for others. I activated Simple Catch Pro for my site (www.bevarly.com) and am not getting any of the interface that appears for your SCP demo site: http://catchthemes.com/demo/simplecatch-pro/. I want to replicate how this page looks for my site. What are the features throughout this page?
Featured Slider: I cannot get the Featured Slider to work. I set it for Featured Image and uploaded four images, but they do not display. Where is Slide bar supposed to show up?
Widgets: Why don’t any of the widgets I have added to home page and other pages displaying? Thanks, Dan
Header: DOes this theme allow me to add a differnt header to one page (my blog posts?)?
April 24, 2014 at 10:31 pm #27315SakinKeymaster@dbevarly: Sorry for the trouble. I hope I will be able to make you happy.
1. Featured Slider
You are saying that you choose Featured Image Slider and uploaded 4 images but it is not showing. So, I will mention the steps and you can check in which one is missing.
1.1. Go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Slider => Slider Options”. Then select “Featured Image Slider” in Select Slider Type and “Homepage / Frontpage” in Enable Slider and Save.
1.2. Go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Slider => Featured Image Slider Options”. Then in Image add in Image URL and then link, title and content and Save.2. Widgets in Sidebar
You are saying that your widgets are not displaying. When I check in your site, I see that you have selected “No Sidebar” layout. That is why it is not showing any sidebar. Go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Layout Options” and in “Default Layout”, you can select “Right Sidebar” and Save.3. Header
This theme uses Custom Header and Logo. For logo you can go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Header Options” and then add in logo image URL in “Header logo url”. Then for custom header, you can go to “Appearance => Header” and upload the full width custom header image. But sorry there is no option to change header image just for one page.April 25, 2014 at 2:33 am #27352dbevarlyParticipantSakin – Thank you for the quick response.
1. I had the image link in the “link” field but not in the “image” field. Now the images all have vertical lines through them. I left the link in the link field and when I click on “Continue” to view them as standalone images, they appear w/o the lines. Both images are 976 x 313 so why the distortion in the slider, but not when you view it in the link?
2. I thought, “Damn! My stupidity” on the layout. But I checked again and sure enough I DO/DID have “Right Sidebar” layout checked. I even reset it and it still does not show the widgets. Which site did you check? http://www.bevarly.com? So this is still a mystery.
3. Thanks on the header response. Dan
April 25, 2014 at 4:28 am #27359dbevarlyParticipantSakin – I just saw that the page layouts can be determined for each individual page in the admin for the page –these are set to “no sidebar” so I guess they override their counterpart in the theme options.
Do you have any “pro” versions that do allow you to change a header on one of the pages. I want to do this for my blog. Thanks.
April 25, 2014 at 12:18 pm #27396SakinKeymaster@dbevarly:
1. Go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Slider => Slider Options” and then check to “Disable Slider Background Effect” and save it. I don’t see image distorted. Maybe it’s due to the effect.
2. Yes, you can set page layout in individual page/post. This will overwrite the settings in Theme Options. Theme Options settings is for overall site and page/post is for individual page/post.
3. You don’t need to change theme for this. You can simply install WP Display Header plugin, which will add Extra header options in your page/post to add different header in particular page.May 14, 2014 at 12:40 am #30455dbevarlyParticipantSakin – Is there any way I can remove the menu on one page as I work on the site? I want to have the single page/placeholder, but it is including the parent pages that are published.
I don’t understand why I show the menu bar. I have not added or created a menu in the admin. Thanks, Dan
May 14, 2014 at 12:48 am #30457dbevarlyParticipantI also deleted the menu, so why is it still showing?
May 14, 2014 at 11:41 am #30518SakinKeymaster@dbevarly: If you delete your custom menu, it will show the primary menu. You can hide that by adding in the following css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
#branding #access { display: none; }
May 15, 2014 at 7:29 pm #30795dbevarlyParticipantThank you Sakin. I appreciate your (always) prompt responses.
May 16, 2014 at 11:25 pm #31027dbevarlyParticipantNever mind – I found a reference in the forum. Sakin – One of the sites in the multi-sites (http://ohiocog.nfoic.net/) cannot get rid of the colon (:) on his slider images. I know this is to preview the description after the image title, but if there is not description, why does it display the colon sign? Thanks.
May 17, 2014 at 12:05 am #31031SakinKeymaster@dbevarly: Wow I just check in your site and you have already added css to hide the colon.
May 28, 2014 at 12:15 am #32697dbevarlyParticipantI want to work on this site and show to a couple of people. I want to have a “coming soon” page like this one: http://mylegalowl.com/?page_id=5 but without the menu to prevent visitors going through the site as I work on it. I have a team spread out that needs to be able to work on this and want them to see the menu and navigation. Can I remove the menu from just one page? Thanks, Dan
May 28, 2014 at 3:13 pm #32768SakinKeymasterHi Dan,
Yes, you can hide menu using CSS to hide just particular page ID. For example, if you want to hide menu in this page http://mylegalowl.com/?page_id=5 then the you can add the following css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
.page-id-5 #access { display: none; }
