Hi, I love the CF theme but I’ve noticed that some of my posts don’t seem to have the option for readers to leave comments. I made sure all allow comments box was ticked for each post but no luck. Hopefully it is an easy fix. I appreciate any help you can give. Here’s a link to the blog page of my site.
@alwelch1: The comment box should appear since you have ticked allow comments in all your posts. It seems to be working at my end. Please try clearing your browser cache and let me know if this solves the issue.
I cleared the cache in Chrome but unfortunately no results. Also I just noticed that the issue is present on my mobile phone browser as well. I’m not sure what the problem could be but since it appears fine on your end hopefully the readers aren’t experiencing the problem.
Please let me know if you have any more ideas or suggestions.
I did a bulk deactivation and it didn’t resolve the problem. It’s just weird that it’s on the older posts. I posted a new blog a few minutes ago and the comments work.
@alwelch1: You seem to have made some changes to the comment settings due to which comment option was not showing up on posts older than 28 days.
Go to => Dashboard => Settings => Discussion => Other Comment Settings => Uncheck the optionAutomatically close comments on articles older than
Let me know if this resolves the issue!
Kind Regards,
Skandha
@alwelch1: Hello there, I hope I was able to resolve your issue. If it’s not too much trouble, I have a quick request: could you please leave an honest review? https://wordpress.org/support/theme/clean-fotografie/reviews/#new-post
Your review will help others know what to expect when they’re looking for the support I offer. Even a sentence or two would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, and if there’s anything else at all that I can do to help,
don’t hesitate to let me know. Have a good day! 🙂
I am also having trouble with the Leave Comment section. I’ve tried everything I’ve read in previous posts with no improvement. I do notice that when I bulk edit the posts — go to the “Comments” button and click it from “-No Change-” option to the “Allow” option — AND then click the Update button — NOTHING SEEMS TO HAPPEN.
I encountered this problem in Catch Box and thought that perhaps it was a matter of a limitation with the free version. But when I upgraded to Catch Box Pro — I’m having precisely the same problem. There was no change. Obviously, other people have encountered the same problem. (If this cannot be resolved, I want my money back from the upgrade.)
Also….I’m encountering yet another problem, but oddly, in the same area of the blog post. I can edit in a “Read More” command page break, but the click on the “Read More” link doesn’t activate — the screen changes but the remainder of the post still does not appear.
While I’m at it, I’ll mention another mystery I came across while trying to correct the Comments feature. I looked through Jetpack help — because apparently their plug-in has further modified the comments feature so that comments could be made via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. accounts – so that the user didn’t need to sign-in separately (thus, yet another password required) for the site – which is an excellent idea. But none of their procedural suggestions solved the problem either.
One thing that was useful, however, they did suggest trying a demo of a different theme to try and figure out whether the problem was originating from the Jetpack plugin or the code for the theme. In my case, when I experimented with a different theme, the Comments section appeared exactly as it should. Thus, I at least was able to narrow it down to the understanding that it’s a problem of this particular theme.
I was trying again this morning, and the comments section appeared to be working with a new post. So, I re-wrote several of the initial posts and at first they appeared to be working – then when I went from draft to published, the comments sections disappeared as before. In addition, the other problems (Read More not working) also returned.
My blog site absolutely DEPENDS on discussion threads via Comments. I need to get it working NOW. If you cannot fix this, please refund my money for the Catch Box Pro version, and I will find another theme to use.
@mikeway: I will need to login to your site so that I can solve the issue. For that I will need your WP admin login credentials. I will contact you shortly email.
This reply is too little, too late. This “support” has been terrible, and I needed MUCH more timely response. So, I am working my way around the problem – taking another approach. I no longer even want to use the Catch Box Pro theme, thus I have submitted a request for a refund of the $49 upgrade from Catch Box to Catch Box Pro. The upgrade was a waste of time and energy (and money). I am turning all my attention to finding a more appropriate and more workable or useful theme with MUCH MUCH better support when it’s needed.
@alwelch1: Hello Mike,
I am sorry if you feel that way but we at Catch Themes try to reply to our client within 24 hours and I guess we have done that.
Once again, Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards,
Skandha
