Hi,
I just upgraded to Simple Catch Pro and would like to change the footer of my site (remove some stuff, add some other stuff). Your built-in Footer Editor Option for the pro version doesn’t seem to work. If I change anything (add or remove) and hit save, it just goes right back to its original state. The changes don’t stick.
I know I could dig into the php files and eventually figure out how to change the footer that way, but it would be much simpler if this built-in Footer Editor worked. Any idea as to why it isn’t working?
ThanksNovember 6, 2012 at 11:22 pm #1530SakinKeymaster@jcdSF: I have fixed it. Please update your theme. We have just released the new version 1.2.2
November 7, 2012 at 2:09 pm #1546jcdSFMemberAwesome, thanks! Will it come through WordPress like a typical update, or will I need to download version 1.2.2 from my account here on the Catch Themes website? I’ve just checked my WordPress dashboard and there are no updates waiting.
November 10, 2012 at 12:06 am #1590SakinKeymaster@jcdSF: you will get notification in Dashboard as well. Yes, you need to go to your account and download the update and update it in your site.
November 10, 2012 at 5:24 am #1598jcdSFMemberI’m still not seeing it – there’s an update for Simple Catch (to 1.4.9) but no update for Simple Catch Pro. Maybe it takes a few days to work through the system once you submit it? I’ll keep checking.
November 10, 2012 at 11:27 pm #1605SakinKeymaster@jcdSF: I will check with my technical team who looks for the update notification. But for now you don’t need to wait for the notification. Just download the latest version from your account in catch themes. Download it and upload it in your server.
November 13, 2012 at 1:55 pm #1893jcdSFMemberSo the automatic update still hasn’t shown up in my WP dashboard, so I went ahead and downloaded 1.2.3 from your site. When I try to install the zip file, however, I get this error:
Destination folder already exists. /home/content/88/9778188/html/dev/wp-content/themes/simple-catch-pro/
Is this b/c I already have Simple Catch Pro installed, and this is performing a new installation rather than an update to an existing installation? How should I proceed? If I delete the old version and install 1.2.3 I’ll lose all my data, won’t I?
Thanks
November 13, 2012 at 4:08 pm #1894SakinKeymaster@jcdSF: It will say that only if your current style.css has version 1.2.3. Yes, there won’t be any effect if you delete and upload the latest version.
November 13, 2012 at 10:54 pm #1900SakinKeymaster@jcdSF: We found the issue with the update notifier. We have just updated the Simple Catch Pro to version 1.2.4. Where we fixed the update notifier and few css.
November 16, 2012 at 7:03 am #1939jcdSFMemberFYI – the update notifier still does not appear to be fixed. I still don’t have an update notification in my dashboard (still have Simple Catch Pro 1.2.1 installed, though not activated b/c I’m using a child theme).
I tried uploading the new zip file (1.2.4) and got the same error as before:
Destination folder already exists. /home/content/88/9778188/html/dev/wp-content/themes/simple-catch-pro/
November 20, 2012 at 8:37 pm #1989SakinKeymaster@jcdSF: Please delete the old theme and then upload the latest version. There might be some conflict with older version. From version 1.2.4 we have added the update notifier. Sorry for the trouble.
November 21, 2012 at 11:35 am #2002jcdSFMemberDeleted the old theme and installed the latest download from your site. Worked fine and changes I make to the footer stay changed upon saving. Thanks for fixing this! Sorry to have been such a pest.
January 7, 2014 at 12:33 am #18949marcellaMemberwe upgraded to everest pro so we could customize the footer. I tried creating a new menu for the footer but the theme doesn’t support or seem to support a secondary menu. I tried dragging the widget menu to the third footer column and assigning it my main horiz’lNav but that doesn’t seem to work either. I am totally lost and would really like to have at least two columns in the footer on left the contact info and social media links and on right the navigation. I tried putting in code but that didn’t seem to work too well; I created a #footer and then #footer.footerleft with postition absolute etc which actually worked but was placed so far left and right outside the container and it seemed that this would mess up responsiveness which I am having issues with but that’s for a later question. Can u pls help me with this?
