You can try using the Social On Footer menu to have the kind of social media icons you mentioned.

Go to => Appearance => Menus => View All Locations => Social On Footer => Select your social menu and I will provide you the CSS Code to have the social media icons show up like you want.

Go to => Dashboard => Settings => Reading => Blog pages show at most => Select the number of posts you want to show and Save Changes.

You will need to select your homepage as a static homepage and then select your Homepage and Blog Page.

Now when you
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Theme Options => Homepage / Frontpage Option => Posts Page Header Text => Edit the text and Publish.

You should see the change. Maybe you had not selected a Blog page earlier thats why the change was not showing up.

You will need to Post/Page to show up the dates. You have the Events Date Day and Events Date Month options to display the required date. The Events posts will show up in the order you put them in the customizer.
