Keymaster@rudolph098: I see that you have added the text in Footer code. That section is for codes and scripts such as google analytic, webmaster, addthis and so on. That is not the place to add the Text. As the item added in this area will be our of footer.

Yes, the best way to customize the CSS is by building child theme and adding new css in child them style.css or if you only have few css to change then you don’t need to build child theme. You can just add the custom css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
