I sent u an email w/links to 2 screenshots, as well as sign-info for you to look into why the phone number in the footer runs together with no hyphens or parantheses.
Thank you much.
BouncedancerParticipantI sent you an email with both my sign-in info and links to my headers, which show up differently in Chromebook vs. Vista/Windows 7. I hope you can check why the phone numbers run together as well as this header issue.
Thank you!
March 16, 2014 at 5:30 am in reply to: Header image is perfect on desktop but too narrow on notebook #21427BouncedancerParticipantI have screenshots but can’t figure out how to display the links here from my computer (the img button above this asks for an URL, but I don’t know how that applies to images on my computer).
However, I haven’t published the blog yet — I could send you the sign-in info thru an email from a previous ticket, unless you want to start up a new ticket for this. In this email I can attach the 2 relevant images that show how the header fills the screen on my computer and laptop but has lots of space at each end on the Chromebook. I guess I should check how it would look on a smartphone.
Thank you for all your help.
BouncedancerParticipantThank you, the Text Widget worked beautifully.
Re the Credibility Widget, it adds a copyright. But there’s already a WP copyright that I can’t delete, so I ended up removing the Credibility Widget again. So that’s not a problem.
I’m talking about the standard footer widget: I set it up to show my contact info, and everything looks fine except the phone number, which has all the numbers running together with no spaces, dashes or parentheses.
BouncedancerParticipantcalvinocampo, I really Like the Font plugin — it’s quite easy to work.
BouncedancerParticipantJ14, bring up the list of all your pages. Under Quick Edit you can control the Comments box.
BouncedancerParticipantYou are one hands-on guy, Sakin — much appreciated. The RSS widget does show in the right-hand column when I bring up the Widgets page, but not when I visit the page. But I haven’t published it yet, and you pointed out how the Pages will show in the top menu once I publish the blog — it might be the same w/the RSS — once I publish the blog, hopefully it’ll show up.
BouncedancerParticipantOurag, this is how to remove the Comments box: Bring up the list of all your pages. Under Quick Edit you can remove the checkmark for displaying comments (thank you to another forum member previously).
BouncedancerParticipantVery nice — I agree w/you about the theme — it was what worked the best with my header and all. I decided to put my header photo credits in my footer — I haven’t published my blog yet, so I can’t show it.
Your blog possibly answered my question of how to make RSS show up in the widget — maybe I’ll try via the Meta heading.
BouncedancerParticipantAwesome — I briefly made the About page public and went to Appearance — Menus, and there it was! I hope this also will take care of the Pages and RSS widgets that won’t show. Thank you very much, Sakin.
BouncedancerParticipantYes, I am not confusing Pages with Posts. The Pages were added thru Add New and as such do show up when I click on Pages.
When you said “disabling plugin,” did you mean to disable the Catch Evolution theme and install Twenty Eleven? I did, and it was the same with that theme, so I switched it back again to Catch Evolution. The only thing that shows up on the strip below my custom header is “Uncategorized,” which isn’t even pages, but (I assume) having to do with posts.
Even though I moved the Pages widget to the main sidebar, it didn’t show up at all. Another widget that is also in the main sidebar on the Widgets dashboard also doesn’t show, my RSS widget.
Sakin, would it help if I sent you the sign-in info via email?
BouncedancerParticipantTerrific — that worked a charm! Thank you, MMchen.
BouncedancerParticipantThank you again, Sakin, for trying to help. No matter how I slice & dice it, my actual pages won’t show up when I try to create a menu. In the article you referenced, you can click on a choice of Pages, Posts, etc. for the menu. The choice of Pages, Posts etc. doesn’t show up for me; instead I initially got a box that gave me the only choice of Contacts or Sample Page. Now I have fiddled enough with it that all it shows under Edit Menus on the left is a box with “Pages: No items.” For some reason my actual pages are not recognized.
BouncedancerParticipantSakin, thank you for being kind enough to take a look at this. Yes, that worked on some other pages, but on my About page, when I click on the Discussions and/or Comments box, nothing happens. Since I haven’t published my blog yet, I’d probably have to send you sign-in info in order to see the page.
