GrannyParticipant
Hello Minal
Thank you for getting in contact.
Here is a screenshot, with the cursor between the two paragraphs but no + sign to select envira. (Incidentally I don’t remember seeing Classic Paragraph in the block column before).

Tried to drag and drop the screenshot without success. Nothing happened
I tried deactivating all plugins and it made no difference, and then I am afraid I deleted a couple (without noting their names) thinking I did not need them. At least they were not the culprits as the lack of + symbol is still there.
RegardsGrannyParticipantSorry. Should have said the site is http://www.francesallen.com
GrannyParticipantPerfect! Thank you so much. Again!
GrannyParticipantOh how stupid of me. After you wrote that I got a friend to check on her iPhone. And we discovered I had simply not spotted the very faint grey downward arrow on the right of the screen!
Is there any way to make this arrow black, bold and larger – or is that wordpress rather than theme?
At any rate thank you once again Skandha. I carry on using this theme for two reasons: 1. I like it and 2. Excellent and prompt support.GrannyParticipantI should have added I have some second level submenus, eg France>Home since 2008>Flowers in my garden
GrannyParticipantThank you very much. You pointed me in the right direction, though in fact I found the solution not under Optional Page or Post Sidebars, but rather the main Sidebar section. I just needed to choose Widget Context ‘Show widget on selected’ and then, under Global Sections, tick Blog Page and All posts.
So, once again, problem solved.GrannyParticipantHello Skandha
Sorry, I have only just spotted your very prompt reply to my query. Yes indeed this plugin was the one that needed tweaking. I have now set it to hide the author but display the date. once again, thank you SO much for your help.
RegardsGrannyParticipantThank you Skandha. Update 1.2.6. fixes the problem of bold not showing.
But it does not appear to fix the problem with italics. See the first paragraph of a blog entry in which Kol Nidrei should be in italics.GrannyParticipantHello Skandha
Any idea when this is going to be fixed? I’m going into hospital for an operation on Monday and would have liked to have sorted this out first.GrannyParticipantre Bold/Italic/Underline
planar knight: there appears to be a bug in the theme which is being looked at now. See my post, which is on the same subject.GrannyParticipantHello Skandha
I am used to formatting text using the wordpress text editor with previous themes and have not had a problem until moving to SlimClick Pro.I don’t know whether you can see screenshots on my mac, but here is an example of how I used WP text editor to put some text into italics:/Users/FRA/Desktop/SLIMCLICK/Screenshot 2020-09-25 at 17.47.30.jpg
And here is the result when published
/Users/FRA/Desktop/SLIMCLICK/Screenshot 2020-09-25 at 17.48.43.jpg
I see the italics when I edit but when I publish they are not visible.I see that planarknight had the same problem on 23 September (issue 4)
GrannyParticipantAny text in the body of a page or post. I agree that too much playing around with formatting reduces the clean look of this theme, but there are occasions when I want to emphasise a word or phrase or put a book title into italics.
GrannyParticipantMy earlier reply disappeared into the ether. So here goes again.
1. Problem with the big white space and no menus on the Blog page has been solved by the prompt issue of a theme update. Thank you Catch Themes.
2. Heading ‘From the Blog’
Skandha showed me how to edit or remove this text in an email. I reproduce it here in case anybody else wants to do this.To change the text From the Blog in the Blog page.
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Theme Options => Homepage / Frontpage Options => Recent Posts Heading => Edit the text and Publish.I have deleted the heading and this very satisfactory moves the posts up the page.
3. Removing the author from posts
Skhanda gave this answer:To remove author from posts.
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS and add the following CSS Code.
.post .entry-meta .author {
display: none;
}I added this to my existing CSS
.post-author.meta-wrapper {
display: none;
}So thank you Skandha and Catch Themes
ps Would still be nice to see instructions for the theme under the Themes section 🙂
GrannyParticipantThe theme update has fixed the problem (almost)! Thank you very much Catch Themes for the prompt response.
There remains one small outstanding issue: when you click on the BLOG item in the menu, it still displays the author. I thought I had hidden this in additional CSS and it does not appear when you click on an individual post, just the block page itself.
I would also like to know how I could edit (or remove) the heading FROM THE BLOG.
GrannyParticipantText anywhere in the body of a post or page, eg bold to emphasise a word or phrase, or italics for the title of a book.
