@keepcycling: Yes, you can upgrade from Gridalicious Free to Pro version without losing and content. The design depends on Additional CSS, you’ll need to copy if you have any Additional CSS in the customizer to the Pro version. Other will work just fine.
Note: If you have any customization made in the theme file itself, you’ll lose it.
I’ve started out with a free version but I’m about to upgrade to the Pro version, however, I have a child-theme already built, if I install the “pro” version over the free version, will I need to rebuild a child-theme?
Also, does the “pro” version allow me to select only 2 featured grid content pages/posts? It seems that the lowest number is 3.
